Has anyone had any experience with this particular food?? This was launched in Dec 2003 in Europe but is now available in India. Unfortunately Royal Canine is the best as far as you can go in dog food in India? Can someone give feedback as to how good and suitable is this food for the breed?? regards Vikram

Royal Canin, Eukanuba are both top Feed.....and should be available shortly in regular supply as the ban on food items has now been lifted by the animal and husbandry dept. some Royal canin is already available...

There is a particular food called "German Shpeherd 30" by Royal Canin. This food caters specially for GSD breed. Has Anyone tried this so far and what are the feedbacks??

Hi, I have used this food and its good, but too expensive here to use all the time. Personally I do not find my dogs to have sensitive digestive system as Royal Canin claim, they eat anything and never have digestive problems, but they did seem to have better coat condition on this food than with the Maxi adult and Junior. This food comes in big chunks which gives them something to chew on and it smells good, the main down side is an expensive bag disappears very quickly. Now I am giving a lot more raw food with occasional meals of this food and the dogs are in great condition. Would be interested to know anyone else's experience.

what is your experience with this food???

Hello, I have a kennel full of GSDs (24-30 at any given time), both mine, clients and dogs here for boarding. I have always fed premium kibbles, without corn as a filler, and that has included Breeders' Choice, Canidae, Wellness and Solid Gold. Though these are all good foods, in my opinion, since I switched to the Royal Canin GSD 24 (which means 24% protein), I have never had my dogs in such top coat condition. As well, their stools are firmer by far. With Canidae I could never get firm stools from any of the dogs. So I order in bulk and this helps cut the cost. Yes, it is more expensive still, by a few dollars per bag. But I have never had a dog NOT love it. Also, the other varieties I feed here for clients smaller dogs, labs etc., are also well tolerated and liked. I should note that I have switched all the GSDs over 6 years of age to the Maxi Light variety of Royal Canin. It seems to work well too and I have found is better tolerated with the older dogs, probably because the fat content is less. I also just put a dog who was in my rescue program on it. This dog has a pancreatic enzyme insufficiency and tolerates this food very well, along with the other treatments intstituted. In my opinion, the quality justifies the extra cost. It is an excellent food.

No idea how much this will cost in India, or in the States, but it costs me nearly $50 for 14kg, thats with a discount.... ..I do agree with Hodie about the coat condition etc.

Hi I put my dogs onto the Royal Canin GSD when it was launched here in the UK fortunately I can get it wholesale. But previous to this one of my bitches was diagnosed with spondolosis of the spine and was on steroids and pain killers. Since having her on the GSD food she is on no pain killers no steroids and has a very active normal life again, with 1000mg of glucosamine and condrotine I feel that has really helped her joints. They look good on it too, so I must admit I wouldn't now feed anything else.
