Sue-ann, the puppy was perfectly NORMAL for a long time.  If you heard distress sounds, it did make some cries when the dam jumped around in the box or when she left it, even sometimes when she was licking it a little roughly.  At the end, the pup was obviously distressed due to what the dam did to it, and she MIGHT have stepped on it at some point just prior to that.  The point is, the puppy should not have perished as it was normal and making absolutely adorable NORMAL, contented nursing sounds for a long time prior to what happened.   I'm 100% certain of this and I watched the entire time we were all trying to contact the owner, as well as some time beforehand.

As I mentioned, I was on the live feed for a very short time.  What I heard alarmed me.  I've whelped more than a few litters and to me the sound and tone were a clue to a problem.  I believe you with your observations.  My 30 seconds doesn't equate to your long time observations. 

I do find it hard to believe a breeder would watch from an adjacent room and NOT intervene if either pup(s) or dam acted less than comfortable.

When I looked at the site there had been the still born and one live pup.  The 2nd still born had not yet been delivered.

What sort of person does something like this?

One that's wishing they didn't come to this board with that link the other day and who has apparently dissapeared.

has anyone ever heard how the bitch(Chaka) on the live web cam birth, out

of Ireland, made out? I know my heart went out to her as did many others.
