There's another breed besides GSDs?  Hmm.  Seriously, I have never owned anything but GSD (well a GSD mix when I was growing up, not sure what she was mixed witrh, but she was an awesome dog)  but am curious about  Malinois.  I probably wouldn't own anything beisdes a GSD

Worst- Dalmation (hyper as all get out)

I like several:  Staffordshire bull terrier (the little English "Nanny Dog", not the American Staffordshire pit bull, though they are nice too) , European Boxers, Great Danes.  Every time I see a little Staffie, I want one, but I don't have the time to do the little guy justice.  And then I'd want to train him or her in Schutzhund....  Veronica

1A GERMAN SHEPHERD DOG

1B WHITE GERMAN SHEPHERD

2 AUSTRALIAN SHEPHERD

3 AKITA

4 PAPILLION

Don't ask me how that last one snuck in there... but they're amzing brave lil dogs who have no idea they weigh 5 lbs and it can get them into a LOT of trouble when they mouth off to the big guys. My last "soul dog" was a rescue self color Aussie who would have happily given her life for me or those I cared for...Lost her this past Winter @ 15 years of age...

Vaianden:   Hey girl, got news for ya...not a bit of difference...Mine can hunt to..The mother , Dutchess should have been a dope dog...I should have trained her with Gal CO SO when we did my Zu...SHe can outsnif, swim a creek or pond for anything from a duck , a ball, a rope, and search out candy , tennis balls, food, hershey kisses, crickets in hiding, catch a mouse, dig a gofpher, and birds cant get far if they are in her sight..Her daughter Cheyene and son , Hunter, are traveling vagabonds..They climb mountains, row in boats, search the woods for anything you ask, love to swim and

Sara and Maggie have their own sailor suits..They swim in the gulf at Kemah almost every weekend...when not performing at the Rose Parade or the Azalea trail...Squirrels and birds are their delight ..I have pics of the home they live in , and it is a hunters delight...not in country , but in the historical section of Tyler and a creek runs right thru the back yard.. Both girls hunt at every chance..in fact, if a group of bus tours are in town , it is one of themost difficult things to keep them both dry and clean...Show coats are like shepherds with coats...exactly....lots of work.

Dutchess is out of several old cocker lines and healthy as they come..Timbo is out of top stud Empire;s Brooklyn Dodger..Of course, I guess , I am one that doesnt keep my cockers in a cage , in a show or on a plane to a show...My girls show off...Their moms and dad are champions, but the can do sport also.  The cocker mouth is amazing and can hold a bird and deliver without a feather gone, if they are allowed the training...TheGreat Lakes American Cocker spaniel Hunting enthusiast ,  the Fanciers Cocker spaniel club of Souther Wisconsin with Jason Givens  training, and many events up in the Wisconsin area include the show cocker right along side the  Britany ,  English cocker, ClumberSpaniel, field spaniels and the English Springer spaniel...flushing and retrieving...the show parti color cocker is know to be a show off and when they  return with the bird it is a sight to take away your breath. Agility is also another ability of the cocker.  My cockers have the natural ability  and instinct to work in the field and go get a bath , blow dry, and comb and go to the show ring....amazing dogs... but it takes seminars and work and in the field training, and a lot of working dog tests to get there..

then take a bath, blow dry and head for the show ring...the hunt test and the many Akc programs are  a fabulous place to see the natural ability come to light... THe pic of this parti color was taken athe Cocker spaniel speciality club of Georgia Flushing spaniel Hunt test weekend  a few years back.': this girls i  Escapades Eat my Dust    aka Dallas..

I also have a girl out of Shatara;s The Piano Man,  who is called Myestro....I love the names of show cockers,,I sit for hours and look at pics and names in the The Cocker Spaniel Leader

Hi eichenluft  (Molly)

They originate from the Chodsko region of the Czech Republic, they just come in the 1 colour, black with yellow/tan/red points and coat length. Bitches are 49-52cm dogs 52-55cm, weight 18-25kg. They have their own breed registry but are not recognized FCI or other countries kennel clubs. Prior to 1985 they were farm dogs and the best working dog was put to the best bitch. Apart from size, other differences are the hind limbs which are a lot straighter in the thighs and knee joint, temperent is brilliant aswell, they will react when needed, they like to live in groups and you can keep several breeding bitchs together without any problems. Each Year they have a meeting, last year 76 dogs/bitchs attended all running free with no dissagreements.
