BabyEagle4U, thanks for the videoclip on Rep. Ron Paul confronting fed res Chairman Bernanke.  It was excellent.  Rep. Paul made the point that no more than 15% know what the Constitution says and even less in dc.  Very sad to say the least.  Of course some of us, including you, know that the real problem is that since 1913 the US has had a fractional reserve fiat based monetary system which was incrementally changed over the years from gold certificate bills, to silver certificate bills, to federal reserve notes.  A note is nothing but a promise to pay which carries and ongoing interest charge since it is technically a loan from the federal reserve, and interest is being charged.  A coin is real money from our actual gov't and there is no interest being charged.  Silver and gold certificates could be traded at any bank for actual gold and silver of the same value.  A paper federal reserve note is worth only its paper and ink and whatever goodwill or faith is behind it.  Pres. Kennedy was executed by our gov't soon after signing a pdd and starting to print U.S. dollars instead of fed res. dollars.  Many believe that this is the main reason he was murdered.  Same for Pres. Lincoln who printed U.S. Greenback dollars during the civil war rather than borrowing money at high interest rates from the int'l banksters.

Most don't even realize that the federal reserve is a private corporation owned by the large int'l merchant banks.  It is no more federal than Federal Express.  As Rep. Ron Paul has stated many times, the federal reserve has never been audited and is accountable to no-one since Congress is unwilling or afraid to take their rightful control over the fed.  Is it any coincidence that the fed res, the fbi and adl were all started on or around the year 1913 to protect this money cartel whom Charles Lindberg's father, a congressman, vigorously fought and called the world's largest monopoly ever created.  The system is failing now because it was designed to fail many years ago to bring in a new globalist new world order.  These int'l banksters of the "opium wars" fame (#322) want to create a one world gov't run by a small group of elites with the rest of us worker bees on the international plantation.

So, our President speaks tonight and warns us that we are about to "enter" a severe recession. "Enter", he did say. Has it taken this long for Dumb Junior to realize that our money does not go as far? Or, has he just been awakened because the firms owned by his wealthy contributors are crying for assistance and desparately need the taxpayers (you and I) to bail out their sorry asses?

There is no two-party system here; lest anyone still believes that myth. And there has not been for quite a long time. Has the Republican Party revised its ideals so that it can support a type of Neo-Communism; i.e. an embarkment towards State-ran financial businesses? Now who is calling who a Socialist? Am I just bewildered or are there more?

This is the most serious thing since the U.S. propped up Chrysler Corporation. But, that was very different and it worked. That was a matter of loans that were made good. And a CEO (Lee Iacocca) who worked for $1.00/year for a while until Chrysler was able to gain a market share. There is a difference between financial assistance and a financial bailout of those who made very poor business decisions yet made away with huge payouts for themselves.

So, a few days ago an investigation started, with requested testimony from several key executives of these firms who are now so desperate. Why? To just pander to the the public and convince them that "we care and want to do what is right"? I think that is exactly what it is, and will be.

Neither McCain nor Obama is the answer. But, in our oft-quoted "two-party" system, for who else can one cast a vote that is not wasted? I know it disturbs me.

Back to the dogs,

Bob-O

Bob-O, as usual you get it right.  I think this administration's sudden and immediate need for 700 billion dollars is to try and bail itself out before they are out of office and then would face indictments, etc.  They believe that they can pay off the foreign interests who are threatening to dump u.s. dollars, provide golden parachutes for their ceo compatriots in these bankrupt int'l merchant banks and float the whole system for another year or two.  The desperation showing on the faces of the two asking congress for this money suggests that someone is threatening someone to get the money andd pay it out or else.

My question is, "where's the fire, what's the rush."  They have known about all this stuff for over 16 years (discussions about it have been recorded in the congressional record many times).  This whole deal needs to be slowed down, and all homeowners and those who lost their homes need to be helped first and the gov't could loan money to them for 2.5 to 3%, the same rate savings are paying now.  Let the local banks provide car loans if they want.  But it is time to repeal the fed res act of 1913 and nationalize the central bank so that we stop issueing money as interest accruing debt.  It should only be issued as money.

5000 US Troops, fresh from Iraq duty are to be patrolling US Streets 10/01/2008 for 'civil unrest'

What does 'DC' know that we dont?  Financial Crisis? Banks Imloding?

  Soldier

'U.S. troops returning from duty in Iraq will be carrying out homeland patrols in America from October 1st in complete violation of Posse Comitatus for the purposes of helping with “civil unrest and crowd control” - which could include dealing with unruly Americans after a complete economic collapse.

This shocking admission was calmly reported on September 8th by the Army Times website, which reports that from the beginning of next month the 3rd Infantry Division’s 1st Brigade Combat Team “Will be under the day-to-day control of U.S. Army North, the Army service component of Northern Command, as an on-call federal response force for natural or manmade emergencies and disasters, including terrorist attacks.”

The article notes that the deployment “marks the first time an active unit has been given a dedicated assignment to NorthCom, a joint command established in 2002 to provide command and control for federal homeland defense efforts and coordinate defense support of civil authorities.”

The purpose of the unit’s patrols includes helping “with civil unrest and crowd control or to deal with potentially horrific scenarios such as massive poisoning and chaos in response to a chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear or high-yield explosive, or CBRNE, attack.”

The unit will be on homeland patrol for at least 20 months before returning to Iraq or Afghanistan in early 2010, according to the report.  Training for homeland operations has already begun at Fort Stewart and at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs.

The open admission that U.S. troops will be involved in law enforcement operations as well as potentially using non-lethal weapons against American citizens is a complete violation of the Posse Comitatus Act and the Insurrection Act, which substantially limit the powers of the federal government to use the military for law enforcement unless under precise and extreme circumstances."

You should read and get some background on the PCA.  It does not prevent `troops from being put on the streets, it prevents troops from acting as civil law enforcement, ie: making arrests, nothing provent troops from being used a man power in the prevention of riots, just as they have been used in CA several times over the years.  Being trained for HS ops is a positive thing.  It can only help when needed at home or when we are forced into those roles abroad.

 Hi Uglydog,

There has been more than one threat of mass rioting if McCain wins the Presidency.  We may see unrest that makes 1968 look like a picnic.  There are a lot of people who have their hopes and dreams in seeing Obama in the White House, and if he isnt' elected, well...

In addition, I agree with you.  The economy may get a lot worse in the coming months.  If this happens, urban dwellers are going to be hurting and they are going to panic.  The future doesn't look pretty.

If the economy gets bad, I hope we will do our best to help those less fortunate.  By "we", I don't mean the Gum'mint, I mean each of us, whether it means donating some cans of food to local food banks, or offering support through the churches.

Micky

I don't watch news, they create what they want you to belive. It's full of s**T we are in free economy, how come goverment is bailing out corporation? Survival of the fittest no? Politicians are corrupt, we people get played every ellection, and what worst we buy it.

Snaiper, I tend to agree.  Perhaps this Italian author had the right idea:

"In actual fact, it is the State, i.e. the taxpayer, who has become responsible to private enterprise. In Fascist Italy the State pays for the blunders of private enterprise. As long as business was good, profit remained to private initiative. When the depression came, the Government added the loss to the tax-payer's burden. Profit is private and individual. Loss is public and social."

Isn't it funny how everything stays the same how history likes to repeat itself, the only thing that changes is what we call our goverment by, but in the end its all the same. Every time we study in college marx we learn one thing over and over, that his idea was perfect, and fair, there was only one foult, that we people are not, so we never will be able to obtain that utopian state.  LOL.
