With regard to the accusation on this board (now disappeared) about ME playing a part in organising a PRIVATE BREED SURVEY for a friend of mine, to be held at Essington GSD Club on the 25th September - I have now established the FACTS:

Ann Ruston - Essington GSD Club Secretary , has informed me 10 minutes ago, that she received a phone call from Philip Prince asking her for permission to hold a BREED SURVEY at Essington GSD Club for one of his dogs, on the above date, the surveyor to be Nikki Farley, and
permission for the Breed Survey had been given by Sheila Rankin Breed Council Secretary.

Philip Prince is a GSD League Council Member
Nikki Farley is the GSD League Council Vice Chairperson
Sheila Rankin is the Breed Council Secretary

They should be accountable for their decisions.

I, David Payne, had NO KNOWLEDGE whatsoever, prior to today, about the above arrangement. Furthermore I am fundamentally opposed to PRIVATE Breed Surveys, and appalled that one has been arranged at Essington GSD Club.

I have called for the IMMEDIATE cancellation of this Breed Survey,

I don't expect or even want an apology from gsd300 or funky munky, they have NO morals, principles or decency. Just remember when I accuse or make allegations, or criticisms, I DO IT UNDER MY OWN NAME.

Hi David

By a private Breed Survey, do you mean that Mr Princes dog is going to be the only dog surveyed?  I did not know this could be done, though I can't see any obvious objection unless the integrity of the surveyor is in question.  Maybe I am missing something, I would be glad to be enlightened.  I presume you are something to do with Essington club and should have known about this beforehand.

Hi DP, I'm glad you removed the demand for all their resignations!

Serious question, what's wrong with this Survey?

WONDERED HOW LONG IT WOULD TAKE,LMFAO LIZ

Unfortunately the Full TRUE Facts are not known about the Breed Survey, which is typical for the UK and as usual it goes on Pedigree Database.  Philip is at work and will be writing the Full TRUE facts of how this all come about later.  Everything about this is above board and not behind anybody's backs and David, I thought you was Philip's friend and would of phoned him first to get the full facts before you write on this board.

The "Philip Prince, Nikki Farley, Sheila Rankin" made me laugh because that's not at all how it happened, I just wondered if I could get a Breed Survey done on our Rocky Haus Tepferd daughter for the Kennel Parade for the British Sieger, as she has to be entered in the appropriate class, and that's all, as we have no intention of showing her and also someone let us down.  I diddn't realise we was going to cause so much problem.

First of all I feel I have had to come on this thread to explain myself as it has been indicated that the Breed Survey was Private, and these was the Facts.  Before I state the facts I would just like to comment that David Payne has been 1 of my closest friend's and we have been through alot together, and to Kerry and I, David has been like part of our family, so when I receive a phonecall today, asking me to resign from the League, also Nikki and Sheila to resign, I was shocked, as David had written this on Pedigree Database.  To me this is like a knife in my back, knowing David very well he would say, "it's because I have Moral's" when all he had to do was phone me and get the true facts.

This is what actually happened regarding the Survey;   we come home from Germany to send our entry form off for the British Sieger, Kerry said she would like to have a Kennel Parade, untill Kerry was filling the form in, we did not realise that our female that is over 2 years had to have a Breed Survey for the Kennel Parade even though we had no intention of showing her.  So the first thing I did as Kerry really wanted this, was to phone Sheila Rankin and ask her if their was any way I could get a survey done, as I would be entering 2 more dogs and make the British Sieger just a little more money, (support)  Sheila said this would be fine if we could find a surveyor to do this and a club to put this on.    So on the Tuesday I phoned John Robinson if he could do a Breed Survey at the Leicester Club, not just thinking of myself, as most people do in this breed, I asked him would he be able to survey anymore dogs?  He said he could survey up to 5 dogs, so I got straight back on the phone to Sheila and told her that John can do up tp 5 dogs, and Sheila said that is great and she would put it on Database, which Sheila did do.  Kim came on Database being upset as she was not infromed from John, so I phoned Kim and told her what happened and Kim said it was nothing to do with the Survey, it was John just not phoning as they are committee members.  There were 2 more people that came on, one of the them was David Payne criticizing the Breed Council and the Leicester club for not informing each other.  Wednesday around 6:00 pm, I get a phone call from John Robinson saying he will not be doing the Breed Survey at the Leicester club, "why" I asked; reason; David Payne has put so much on John Robinson that John doesn't want anymore hassel from David Payne.  I would like to say, "sorry John, I think you were wrong for cancelling the survey".   I then ring Sheila and tell her what John has said and ask Sheila if anybodyelse wants a Breed Survey?  She said No.  My next step was to ask Nikki Farley,  and she said she would do the survey at Essington if they agreed and Sheila agreed too.  Which I did.  Essington is a private club and they asked the committee if they allowed me to do this.  And they said Yes.  So you can see there was no Private Breed Survey and NO hidden agenda, and everything above board.

So David, I feel you owe me an apology, Nikki Farley an apology and Sheila Rankin an apology on this subject.  As all 3 of us are on committee's that try to help the GSD in the UK.

Regards

Philip Prince

1) I fundamentally disagree with private breed surveys, or if you prefer the words, "breed surveys arranged for one dog or one owners dogs"
My view regarding this does NOT alter whether it is for a friend or foe or family, indeed if my own wife wanted to arrange one for one of our dogs, I would strongly disagree. A principled viewpoint does not change according to who is involved. I was particularly incensed when gsd3000 accused me of "arranging this survey" and also when funky munky liz agreed with gsd3000, without even a shred of evidence. The Essington committee, I feel sure will vouch for the fact that I knew nothing about the request, as does Philips posting above. The accusation was unjust and grossly unfair, and came from two anonymous morons of course.

2) I fundamentally disagree with any Chairman or Secretary acting in that role, in a dictatorial manner, in other words "making decisions without the agreement or consent of the committee" - or a secretary assuming powers they do not have. With the communications options available these days there is simply NO excuse for it. I support committee members who appear to have a genuine grievance on these matters, as is my individual right. If a chairman takes umbrage, so what? Unchallenged their conduct as chairman could easily worsen. The same applies to unacceptable behaviour by committee sectretary's when it goes unchallenged, or maybe people are afraid to challenge it. It appears my willingness to challenge is seen as 'threatening'. The simply fact is that chairmens rulings can and should be challenged, especially when they fail to obtain a majority decision, after consulting ALL committee members.

It might be very beneficial to our breed if seminars were arranged specifically to teach "chairmanship of meetings & committees" & "a secretary's role for committees and meetings". It is simply NOT good enough for people in these positions not to know their role, and just because its "voluntary" and "no one else wants the job", for them to assume powers they do not have.

I am informed, again by the secretary of Essington GSD Club, (of which my wife and I are founder members) That Essington would be having nothing to do with the referred to Breed Survey, as on the AGM date, dogs are NOT allowed, indeed the AGM notice specifies this explicitly, and the arena is NOT hired for this night, and Essington GSD Club only pay one third of our normal nightly hire charge, solely for use of the 'meeting room'.

David, I have read your response, and I can see no apology is coming asking us all to resign.  And reading what you have put on here, this is not about private survey's, committee's, expenses for hall's, and anything-else you wish to put down.  This is about my partner, Kerry, who would love to have a Kennel Parade at the British Sieger, as it was her little dream as she was not able to do this before, and this is about people in our breed rallying around, foregeting the politic's and trying to help.  Now David, if this was Rhoda wishing this, you would move Heaven and Earth for Rhoda to try and put this on for her, I see no difference.

I have said all I have to say, so I will not be coming on this thread anymore, and what will be - will be.

Regards

Philip Prince
