ARI,You are the one who butted in on this thread, hoping to get a few more digs at good dogs,so why don't you crawl back under the stone you came from, and let everybody else get back to the serious discussion in hand. liz

Oh right Justcurious. I also agree with you. The chances of a dog dying becuase of a viral heart infection are very slim unless he has parvo. Silbersee ask any Heart specialist and he will tell you that a weak heart is 99% genetic. So are allergires, weak immune systems and bad nerves. Alfons did have a genetically weak heart. Whether you like it or not but the chances of vaccinated dog dying from a viral heart disease are slim to none. Genetics are to be blamed.

Another interesting thing. Astana was the grand son of Erasmus Van Noort who also died at the age of 8. Genetics!............I heard of many dogs from the Yasko lines that are suffering from health problems.

Maybe you have been asleep but,we have alreadt discussed the yasko lines.go check it out,and catch up son. Also if you read the very first post made by my sister BRADYBEE, she has already mentioned erasmus. Do you read anything properly before you open your big gob. liz

Silbersee

Aristian, now you are repeating what I had written before about the Parvo virus. Please go back and check my posts. And I beg to differ: It is not rare that common cold and flu viruses can cause heart conditions. But it is kind of a wasted time to guess what Alfons had or not, since nobody knows. I have also stated that veterinary research is not that far advanced or more importantly, funded to often pinpoint the exact cause of death. In another thread, somebody stated that there has been no answer from Alfons' owner. How about his breeders? Why have they not come forward here and offer an explanation, or if they don't have one at least state so. It would be nice to end this soap opera now!

Silbersee, good point about the breeders, i do believe they do not know any more than the rest of us,but as you said they could have made a statement to that effect. liz

Silbersee i actually think you know what your talking about, unlike miss funky monkey. As for fever and flu causing heart disease, im not too sure, I still think genetics are too be blamed. Maybe bird flu or parainfluenza are capable of causing heart failure. There was an outbreak in England a few years ago. But then again the chance a dog dying from bird flu are very rare and genetics are mostly to blame. Funky Monkey you are stupid and rude. Please refrain from posting irrelevant things. Maybe the breeders and owners of Astana dont want everyone one to know that he had a genetically weak heart. No offense! A hail and hearty dog like Astana would unlikely die because of a virus.
