What Schutzhund fan is pointing out that Doug Deacon did his crituques in english  at the WUSV Denmark and not Danish  and Pierre in english and not in French .

I am glad he pointed that out ,this is what I been trying to say  it would take to much time to have translators on the field !!! This is why no translations are given !!

and it is not true when Nia stated the judge has 8 minutes for critiques   each pair of competitors had been planned in for 20 minutes including the critique  . The longest critiques that are given are in club trials   2 days 10 dogs :) or maybe a little more tops 24 . World / national championships  approx 100 dogs in 4 days !

This is what i have been saying from the beginning of these articles, It was completly unfair to the American public and others attending the event not to have a translation in the English language, plus of course many other people from other countries and i can bet that if any foreigner going to the Event would know a little English in front of the German Language and if your own country men complained then it stands to reason the organisers were totally wrong in there way of thinking

But i have to say that it seems that this oversight was the only thing to mar a great organised event

To have a shuttle bus to the tracking fields was a brilliant move

I do not think it could have been organised much better anywhere in the world if they had had an interpeter there, it seems everyone is full of praise and it is hats off to the organisation for a brilliant job

I do wonder what will happen in Germany next year, a lot of there training fields are very small, some in forest areas but they must have everything in hand and i hope a translator booked if everything is in the German Language again

Steve, You are correct: the lack of translation was the only complaint I heard, and certainly the only one I have. :-) The venue was damn-near perfect, as it was easily accessible from the host hotel and other lodging, being right off the freeway; there was plenty of (free) parking in the stadium's lot; there was a variety of very good food (best breakfast burritos ever!); CLEAN, well maintained restrooms (the only public restrooms I've seen where there were enough stalls that there was NEVER a line in the lady's room!!); good seating with good views of everything from various spots. Everything ran smoothly (at least from the spectators' perspective- there are always little glitches that give the behind the scenes folks spasms:-) ). I thoroughly enjoyed the event and seeing some truly magnificent performances, especially by several of the bitchesentered. I don't know if the number of bitches entered this year was significantly different than in previous years (have't checked past entries, yet), but it certainly seemed like a lot more bitches than previously. Seeing the name of an Austrian(?) kennel I'd never seen before on several dogs/ bitches gave me something interesting to research. I also enjoyed watching the various teams' "cheering sections," especially the Canadians. The Canadians competed with HOT and often HOT-B or Canadian-bred dogs. One of them got a standing ovation, when he took off with the helper's sleeve on the escape. :-) One bitch, Billie, is HOTB and the daughter of a bitch the handler previously competed with at the Worlds. Seeing a few of the dogs off the field and seeing the stable, very social temperaments was alsoo very heartening, as was the happy work of many dogs already mentioned. They were truly ambassadors for the breed.

I'll second Mystere's post - I agree with everything she said.  Yes I was there too -

Steve, Any report from the Belgian team?

.I did speak to the team Captain briefly as he came to the club but i did not push him too much, he only got home from the USA  a few  hours prior and i expect he was a little jetlagged and tired,

to day  Thursday, he is flying off to Canada  to do a trial and seminar, so is a busy fellow right now, When he gets back he has several trials he has to Judge, i will ask him more then

He did say that some of the Dogs had a harder time than others on the tracking, parts of the tracking course was up hill and down dale so to speak with turns at the top made it harder for some, than the Dogs who were on more even ground but he did not elaborate on it and said it comes down to the draw and thats the way it is and there can never be excuses

He also said one of the Belgian Dogs was not going too good in Training over there and he feared the worse and that was it, it did not improve in the competition, but he had nothing negative to say and said it was run excellently

I mentioned the lack of Communication in the Langauge and he said he was suprised a bit at that but took it as it was,

he said they all enjoyed themselves which was good
