" $250 billion in bailout funds committed to dozens of large and regional banks, it turns out that many of the recipients of this investment from taxpayers are not all that interested in making loans. And it appears that Mr. Paulson is not so bothered by their reluctance...

Asked how an infusion of $25 billion of bailout funds would change the bank’s lending policy, an executive said the money would be used to buy other banks. “I think there are going to be some great opportunities for us to grow in this environment, and I think we have an opportunity to use that $25 billion in that way,” the executive said. He added that the money could also be used as a backstop in case “recession turns into depression or what happens in the future.”

There was not a word about lending — not to businesses or home buyers or car buyers or students or other consumers. Just the opposite. In response to another question, the executive said that the bank expected to continue to tighten credit.

JPMorgan Chase is not alone. The Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday that some regional-bank recipients of the bailout money had acknowledged that only a small portion would be used for loans and the rest for acquisitions and other purposes."

I guess if that grubby, old man displaying on TV  a monkey dressed as Obama didn't cause a riot in Podunk, KY hanging an Obama image might just be considered the work of an miscreant and ignored. Of course it's fine and dandy that Palin takes her big mouth before the cameras calling Obama a socialist and a marxist and little old  McCain follows suit.  Does anyone ever remember McCain's treating any of his peers with such contempt and disrespect. Of all the rebuplicans in contention, he would have been the one I'd have picked to run a clean campaign. What has happened to this man? He has morphed into a male Sarah Palin.

How about the false claim of a rape and beating by that "big black Obama supporter". Before it was investigated by the cops the area Rebuplican committee had already sliced and dised Obama and his supporters publically. This doesn't even begin to touch on the disprespect shown to Obama by the republicans but still he stood tall didn't retaliate with the same elementary school  retorts, did he? Sure makes him look a lot more presidential than some old man waving around his arms and calling his opponent a socialist and his running mate winking and mugging to the camera That woman brings nothing but disgrace and vulgarity to the political arena. Compared to Michele Obama, she a pole dancer at the Wasilla Tavern.

Let's keep it real, there are good and bad in both parties and assholes are everywhere. The democrats don't own the patent on people behaving badly. The republicans are every bit as apt at that and even more blatant this election. Any time a Presidental candidate and his running mate deliberately, and not-so-subtly BTW, incite crowds to react to their opponents in a way that could result in violence then we have a problem Houston.  Who would deny that, should Obama win, he will be in the crosshairs of every home grown lunatic looking to get his/her name in the history book. I often think it would be doing  him and his family a much bigger favor by not voting for him. No matter who wins this election we continue to shoot ourselves in the foot by looking  to the rest of the free world like a bunch of cry babies and hot heads with no sense of decency. We continue to earn our nick names Ugly Americans.

I don't like Bush, never voted for him and feel he's an embarassment to this country. However, I think these photos are disrespectful regardless of who generated them.

What, no comments on zbig brezinski who runs both candidates, is an avowed marxist and who is going to be the new president?  This is the biggest story the last few months.  If you liked nazi germany and russia under lenin and stalin, you are going to love the usa under brez.  If you don't believe this, read his book and see what he wants.  Do you own research on the existing shadow power structure behind both candidates, where it comes from, who pays for it and what its over all goals are.  I guarentee you will be shocked.  "cain and 'bama are mere dupes and order takers like boosch, they really don't understand the full picture but know that they must follow orders.

 Essentially, I mean that the democrats are trying to paint the GOP with racism, because someone equated Obama with a simian.  It falls flat, as so many on their side have for years, equated the very caucasian George (Curious George) Bush with Cheetah.

People, we have a choice in this country.  We either listen to Reverend Martin Luther King, that all men (on BOTH sides) be treated equally, or we follow the Reverend Wright that all whites are racist, no matter what they think, say, or do.
