From Blitzens above link:  Obama, Oct. 12: [W]e've cut taxes a lot for folks like me who make a lot more than $250,000. We haven't given a break to folks who make less. It's not that I want to punish your success, I just want to make sure that everybody who is behind you, that they've got a chance at success, too. And everybody is so pinched that business is bad for everybody. And I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody.
What Obama was saying is that giving tax breaks that have disproportionately benefited upper-income taxpayers leaves those further down the scale "pinched," with the result that "business is bad for everybody."  Obama was wrong about one thing; the Bush tax cuts did in fact give tax breaks "to folks who make less," including the previously mentioned 10 percent tax bracket, "marriage penalty" relief and an increase in the per-child tax credit, all of which Obama proposes to keep. What his plan would do is provide even more tax benefits at the middle and low end of the scale, while increasing taxes at the top.

This way of "spread[ing] the wealth around" is hardly a new concept. The United States already has a progressive tax system by which high earners are taxed at higher rates than those who make less. Obama would make it somewhat more progressive. (The Williams ad uses the term "taxing the rich.")  McCain himself hasn't always seemed so opposed to progressive taxation. Here's what he said in a 2000 meeting with college students sponsored by the MSNBC program "Hardball," when questioned about the issue: McCain, Oct. 12, 2000: [W]e feel, obviously, that wealthy people can afford more.....And I think middle-income Americans, working Americans ... all of the taxes that working Americans pay, I think they – you would think that they also deserve significant relief, in my view. ..[H]ere's what I really believe, that when you are – reach a certain level of comfort, there's nothing wrong with paying somewhat more.

In fact, the system would remain progressive under McCain's tax plan. His argument with Obama isn't about whether to "spread the wealth," but by how much.
Also, as we now know, Joe the Plumber would almost certainly be entitled to a tax cut if Obama's plan were implemented – and a larger one than he'd get under McCain's.

Sue, I am constantly puzzled how anyone can make an educated decision about this election when all they listen to is half truths and innuendos about BOTH candidates and their running mates. The facts are there for everyone who wants to know the truth about each candidate's policies.

Sure Hodie, cant you tell. Im gonna join the skinheads, the gangs, and the mexican rebels, and the Black Liberation army , put on my duds and my hip boots, call up the President of Saudi Arabia ,and Iran and order some Nukes and hit the road. I will be sure to send you a form to join....

I have that reputation on my resume. Gonna take  my best friend Kay Bailey Hutchinson and my life long buddy, Police Captn Former FBI agent Roger Pence with me.

Give me a break....read the papers and listen to Sean Hannity...you would know what Im speaking about. Even black preachers in Texas are not voting for Obama,,they are afraid what is about to happen in the streets of America ., promoted my all these orginizations and if Jesse Jackson has his way it will happen.

It might surprise you what the Law enforecment agencies in this country are doing and know. I happen to have inside connections.

YR:  Regarding my phone, I take it you & Steve must have been trying to call me while you were visiting him?  If it's the 661 number, I am selling that house,  I don't live there anymore, so I don't hear the phone.  I haven't turned it off because it's tied to my computer, and I haven't decided what I'm going to do with it, so I still have the number.

Regarding Obama, Please tell me you aren't suggesting there would be some kind of wild rioting in the streets or other nonsense  just because a man of color was elected president?   I'm sorry, I honestly believe we as a people have grown so far  beyond that, we are so much better than that now.  Thankfully, one of Obama's greatest strengths is he does not suffer fools or bullies, and he doesn't back down from them.

We havent Sue, dont kid yourself.

Cops around the country-local, county & State are on High Alert in Urban areas.  Mine included, which is Cincinnati. This is fact.

There will RIoting in the streets is he loses.

I suspect that NY, LA, Detroit,  Gary,  DC, Philadelphia & Chicago might burn. And thats just a start & what 'they' want.  Divide & Conquer. Focus attention away from the theft of this nation by the Banksters.

Youve got about a week to buy a gun if you dont own one and practice with it.

Nothing quite like a little mass intimidation to put a republican back in office. If you suceed with your scare tactics, then I expect you  all will be getting down on your hands and knees praying that McCain lives out his term in office. I am just amazed at the horrible, meanspirited  attitudes of those on this board who constantly  profess to be God fearing Christians.  Exactly where do you holier-than-thou arseholes  think the black race came from? The cotton patch?  If you don't like Obama, don't vote for him. It's people like you who incite the home grown looney tunes to buy a gun and make history.

What would Jesus do? Pat you on the back and say -job well done or condemn your sorry asses  to hell?

BTW, exactly when should we expect this American revolt to take place? YR says if Obama wins, Ugly says if he doesn't.  Which is it?
