I hate to disappoint some of you, but it is a big system, and it is controlled by more powerful people than US Gov't. It is controlled by people that created the US Gov't to protect them and to make them invincible, even if OBAMA get's elected it will not matter he will have nothing to say, at the end of a day president and other politicians are just faces of way more complicated system.

I like the quote:

'He who Casts the vote, decides Nothing. He who Counts the vote, decides everything'

-Joseph Stalin

The only thing I would change was "He who casts the vote, decides Nothing. The vote that they decide that counts decides everything".

-Lukasz J. Trzebinski

For those of you that think that the people in charge will share with you their pie of power, I have just one thing to tell you: “Put down that crack it makes you dump” lol hahahaha.

As we witness history being made with the election of Barack Obama, I am reminded of the remarks Gerald Ford made when he took the oath of office after Nixon's resignation and it reflects how I feel after eight years of Bush - Ford said:

"My fellow Americans, our long national nightmare is over."

Aint it the truth, KTF!

Well, the election is finally done over and Bush era done with. Wonderful email by the way; lofty sentiments indeed! Still, a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step.

Not for me to leave you ‘so confused’, Micky. And here’s me unfairly speculation that perhaps you’re more than aware I wasn’t speaking, as for Obama, about those with perfectly legitimate reasons to own guns, including bona fide hunters. No sir, it was aimed at the surrounding ingrained irrational mania blighting this whole issue. The rabid opposition to all regulation per se, semi-automatics and what else alike, as steeped in outdated phobias scarcely relevant to modern urban societies. Much about the Second Amendment but scant about how democratic rights also automatically invoke personal responsibilities. Whereas those self-servingly hailing democracy and the Constitution the loudest, are inevitably the first to rant about militias or like absurdities, presumably if outcomes should ever happen to seriously contradict own narrow ideology or one-sided interpretations. Much said too about ostensibly owning guns for self-defense, but again, little mention of addressing the societal root causes driving such perceived need. Luxurious? With the economy in meltdown it resembles fantasizing over Caribbean holidays whilst struggling to pay the rent or feed the kids! Only my view, of course.

Appreciated the reference to Aquinas etc. Of course (as we’re both aware?) in most religious debates such citation is but usual grist, stock fare. I somehow doubt our Obama had your average Christian so much in mind as those who through religion, or own self-serving or childhood-instilled interpretations rather, rationalize all kinds of illogical ideas and actions. I’ve truly little interest in Obama’s personal religious beliefs. I think Romney once said that he’d exercise public office irrespective of personal creed and I’d similarly accept that in good faith. For what it’s worth, I strongly oppose religious extremes as well as militant atheism, not to mention the intrusion of religion in secular politics.

My sympathies Blitzen – ever contemplated greener pastures?

1-20-09: The End of an ERROR!!

by Uglydog on 05 November 2008 - 17:11

1/21/09 -  The Start of a New Error

Another Corporate Sponsored Candidate

I grew my Libertarian roots during the Klinton Administration.

'I have always hoped for a time when the American people realized that the government was not their friend.

I hoped for a time when selfishness was set aside and the ideals of self sufficiency, self reliance, and self determination were once again embraced.

I hoped for a time when the People realized the importance of responsible firearm ownership. I hoped for a time when politicians understood the purpose of the 2nd Amendment and respected the right of every responsible American to be armed.

I dreamed of a time where my children could enjoy more freedoms than I do, pay fewer taxes, and find it easier to start and maintain a business with fewer interferences from big government.

I hoped for an awakening of the American people to the fundamentals of freedom, and saw through the fallacies of Class Warfare.

I hoped for a time when, as a nation, we would turn from this path that is leading us toward complete Socialism.

LAST NIGHT THOSE HOPES AND DREAMS WERE DASHED.

My children will live in an America, where politicians will increasingly raise taxes and waste money on failed social programs that do nothing but undermine the ideals of self reliance.

My children will grow up in an America where it will be criminal to even own a firearm and ammunition.

My Children will grow up in an America where the idea of starting a business will be so overshadowed by the immense burden of government regulation that it would be easier to just live on welfare than risk starting one.

My children will grow up in a world where medicine and basic health will be rationed, and the use of private doctors will be outlawed.

MY CHILDREN NOW LIVE IN A WORLD WHERE A POLITICIAN CAN BECOME THE MOST POWERFUL MAN IN THE WORLD,  BY PROMISING TO TAKE THINGS FROM ONE GROUP OF AMERICANS,  JUST TO GIVE THEM TO OTHERS IN ORDER TO BUY THEIR VOTES.

My dream is dead. I will prepare to resist.

"MY CHILDREN NOW LIVE IN A WORLD WHERE A POLITICIAN CAN BECOME THE MOST POWERFUL MAN IN THE WORLD,  BY PROMISING TO TAKE THINGS FROM ONE GROUP OF AMERICANS,  JUST TO GIVE THEM TO OTHERS IN ORDER TO BUY THEIR VOTES. "

Now?  I thought the Build a burgers put Boosch in orifice, and America has been spelled with a "k" for 8 years?  Surely, we now will all get that pony we've been promised?

Ah, at least the little Obama children will now get that ornamental puppy their parents promised them.  Remember Buddy, the Clinton's ornamental dog?  Smushed by a car, as I recall.

"I've never seen a President -- I don't care who he is -- stand up to the Israelis. It just boggles the mind.
They always get what they want.
If the American people understood what a grip these people have on our government, they would Rise up in Arms. Our citizens don't have any idea what goes on."
- Admiral Thomas Moorer
Former Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff under Ronald Reagan

"Its pretty hard to imagine us going into Iraq without the strong lobbying efforts from AIPAC and the Neocons, who think they know whats good for Israel more than Israel knows."
-General William Odom, NSA Chief under Ronald Reagan
