Firefly,

You actually have a line breeding 4,5 and 5,5 on Bero vom Friedersdorfer Flur.

Here is my boy http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/553177.html

I love Czech Lines , I was lucky to find a nice breeding of Czech Lines from both dam and sire. Best GSD I have ever owned!

I love the big heads and blocky build of the Czech bred dogs.  They also seem to bond easily/quickly and become very close those their owners.  Love their rich coloring too.  They seem to be sound, stable dogs.

Brian,

Oh I'm sure there are, everything I've heard about him says he's a good dog who brought a lot of strong characteristics to the Czech lines. I have a great granddaughter of his and love her, obviously. :)

But in my hypothetical matings for my girl, I ruled out any dog that would end up with a line breed due to the fact that I'd also read how the chances of bad hips increased if you brought that blood back on itself.  I would not have risked it unless or until (again remember hypothetical here my girl is spayed :D) my bitch had put 3-4 healthy and structurally sound litters on the ground and I was comfortable with knowing what she produced.

It just always seemed a risk that wasn't worth it, when I could instead look for dogs with Titus zPS in their lines, get the magic cross back to Car through his blood and not have the same potential risk as a line breed back to Grimm.

Then my girl's puppies would have had Car/Titus/Grimm in their pedigree which I think could produce an interesting dog.  Especially since I could have taken my girl's strong and clear head and looked for a male with some more "power", maybe around the 75lb mark for a bit more size, environmentally and physically sound, and then hopefully ended up with a litter with more intensity on the field, a little more size but that wasn't going to come up the leash on me.

Yes I had some fun and put some thought into this before reality took over and I spayed her. ;D
