Excellent poin, Molly. I would think that any liver/blue/non or mono testical, etc. would be sold with a spay/neuter agreement. I also thought this thread was theoretical and the op didn't actually have a blue.

I think that is correct two and also, Jackie Robinson and Yao Ming should agree

The blue dog was not bought by kit kat it was born out of black and tan dogs both from different kennels both with different blood lines .apparently both dogs bought with there  AKC were blue carriers .the blue popped up after several repeat breeding with the two separate lines .with out my paper work in front of me it would be my guess a third dog was bought  and bred to a pup from the first two and then the blue popped out !! Yes thats how it went.as i owned the dog the blue poped out of .i had that dog spayed never to be bred again.i gave the litter away .as all the pups were blue  and blue and red.NO one got any papers except for the two kit kat kept for herself.I myself never got anymore blue puppies from the lines.kitkat has listed the bloodlines some where.. as for the kennels they came from im not opening up a can of  kennel bashing..

Wait a minute.........If this supposed ficticious blue dog is  EXCEPTIONAL in the work, REALLY exceptional?????  Then what???  I say if he is a standout in the work and sound,  then hell yeah, breed him!  I agree with Christopher, to hell with his color - blue dogs are blue, there is nothing wrong with them.  Why in this day and age of crap normal colored shepherds being bred and bred and bred would anyone object to an exceptional working dog being bred???

NOW if he is an unproven, untitled  pet or titled, but nothing exceptional in the work, then no, don't breed him or take your bitches to him.

Of course, I believe only dogs that are truly exceptional in the work should EVER be bred.  For me, conformation is secondary.  Conformation should only be what allows the dog to do the job soundly, and should always take a back seat to the work.

Sue it,s called "THE STANDARD" you might want to check it out?

Bob, yes I am very aware of the standard, I'm just tired of color being more important than the dogs job or working ability.  Maybe it's time the standard was that of a working dog, not a show dog, that's all.

To all that want to bash the blue gsd you may be supised to know it could be hiding in your own dogs pedigree.Be careful what you ask for.Or you may find yourself with out your stock dogs..

If i had a blue pup or pups out of the litter they would be given to good homes with a mandatory spay, neuter contract. and checked on to make sure it happened.
