 You are joking...right?

Not at all. Per email with Joyce the owner.

The comma is in the wrong place and there is one too many zeros.

Are you sure you didn't add too many zero's?   How about 1,200.00 and 1,500.00  Not worth a penny more in my opinion.......

If you are just wanting a nice family dog, try looking at a shelter or GSD rescue group.

These dogs have no show ratings...which you can do even as a pup, and most breeders over in Germany will show a promising puppy.  Diego has a very good pedigree...but he is almost three years old and nothing has been done with him.....at that age, he should have a show rating, SchH title and a breed survey-- so why hasn't this been done with him?

They just have the BH, obedience and temperament test, not a real title.  What are you looking for?  If protective companions, then they don't appear to have any protection training.  For that kind of money, you should be able to get something with protection training.

Diego's ad says "Has hips and elbows certified".  This means...nothing.  Are they certified with the OFA or with the SV?  If with the SV, "certified" can mean "Noch zuglassen" elbows, which are considered dysplastic with the OFA.  If you wanted to breed...no one in the USA is going to want pups from a dog whose elbows are noch zuglassen.

Ben's ad says "Has hips and elbows certified good".  With what organization?  OFA does not certify elbows as "good".  They are either Normal, or dysplastic.  Nothing inbetween.  If with the SV...there is no "good" classification.  For hips and elbows there is A1, fast normal, and noch zuglassen.  Again...anything less than A1 elbows or OFA normal is considered dysplastic with the OFA.

These people probably went and purchased these dogs for 3000 Euros in Germany, and now are reselling them for three times that amount.

BTW, if this is a joke, and you are pulling our collective legs about your interest in these dogs.....with me responding so seriously....I'm going to have a talk with Santa about putting a lump of coal in your Christmas stocking!!

I you just wnt a nice dog for the family then you are looking in the wrong place. The ones you are looking at are priced for what they are intended for. Unless you are going to continue their training and show then get another dog besides these. there are plenty of gsd for sale as strictly for the family that cost considerably less.

$12k and $15k for UNTITLED DOGS????? I agree with one of the other posters. The going rate would be a comma over and a couple zeroes fewer.
