Apparently you do not know well promoted GSD breeders very well The breeders I bought dogs from or spoke to but never bought from, consistently  even now, rehome their breeding  dogs after only a few litters, having bought them already titled, imported them from overseas ,...then tell prospectivei customersthey expect them  to give them forever homes but have no problem kicking them out when they have enough offspring by said dam or sire. Do your research before preaching to me about anything. How about only having enough dogs that you can keep forever?.I am referring especially to some breeders in Washington,Oregon, Montana and Wisconsin.Come back to me when you learn about the "business" aspects of  GSD puppy buying.i If people were in it purely for the love of the dog,it wasnt ' really a business ,then  breeders would not be asking $100=2500 and more for unproven pups nor rehome their breeding stock no matter how old they are..I did the kind thing by finding permanent homes myself before I bonded to them or vice versa You don't know me and have some nerve passing judgement on someone who has been around  Arabian horse breeders  and trainers if not dog breeder for  over 20 years!

LoL you should get a rat, he might protect you. LoL I wouldn't sell you a poster of GSD let alone actual GSD. lol I can't believe that people like you are allowed to own anything.

You've been judged by what you've told us, wearesiamese.

It's not news that breeders of every breed, rehome brood bitches; it doesn't make it right though.  I see bitches for sale on this site of 5 - 6 years old, the breeders have made their money and then some, but they want more because there's still a litter or two in the bitch, it's sickening!

Some good breeders rehome, (for a nominal fee or free) with the dogs welfare in mind and that can work out very well for dog and owner... better than being in a kennel for years.

Why do you think your "being around Arabian horse breeders and trainers for over 20 years" is relevant?????  It clearly hasn't taught you much about dogs!

There are some crappy breeders out there and some crappy owners.  I sincerely hope that you have taken enough on board to prevent you from continuing to be one of those.

Oh my good wearesiamese,

what a poor life do you must have, i think we all know the different of a child and a dog, also here in germany.

ok, i try to come to the point, all dog-lovers are cat-hater´s, all dog lover´s will save a dog, special a gsd, but nore kids, you like cat´s for inside and dogs for outside, you like to spend your money in super-trainers, but never spend time in your dog, because he have to live outside, you want to change your idea, you prefer to buy a fish instead a dog and the biggest impertinence is, you like to tell all the gsd -specialist´s in keeping, breeding or training the rules of GSD-Business????????

Maybe you are a little bit weird???????????????????

Sorry, but i regret to had wrote something.

By the way, buy a pirannha , as a toy for your cat´s , :-))))

Sorry, for my polemic.

Regards

I get the feeling this topic has pretty much exhausted itself - this person is never going to learn anything from this Board: she didn't years ago at Leerburg, and nothing seems to have changed. The only sympathy I have is for that poor dog of hers, relegated to the back yard (or where ever) 24/7, 365 days a year. No company, no attention, no love that I can discern, no stimulation of any kind - and no end in sight to her situation. How perfectly dreadful.

wearesiamese please do not get another dog - of any kind. And do the right thing by the one you have: contact a REPUTABLE rescue organization (doesn't have to be in Oklahoma, there are groups in Colorado and Texas which will often take out of state dogs) and see if they can't find a home -a REAL home, where she can be trained, played with, and cherished as a family member - for your girl.

believe me you people are as nasty and crazy as last time I posted. Why I thought you would be more civil is beyond me. I know Iam a nice person and if you think I am wierd that is a good thing  It tmeans my priorites are in thre right place.-Human beings  well being mu come before dogs. I wonder if any of you care about the people in darfur ior in gaza. You would save the dogs but let the people die from the way many of you talk here..Dogs need room to run and  deserve to live outside and anyone keeping dogs inside is going against  dogd'nature. You have no idea how I keep my pets, what i feed them or the vet care itheyget so take a flying leap and get a life beyond dogs!  I doubt you hav eany human friends as nasty as you are to newbies here or anyone who doesn't agree withyou.i have received messages from 1/2 dozen or more readers of this forum who wont post because of the nastiness that goes on. here. You represent the breed poorly with your nastiness. If you want to bring new people into the breed you are going about it the wrong way.My vet references are impeccableand the trainers know my animals got good care.. and if you think I should cuddle a dog like a child then you havea problem .  No dogs or any animal will never be as important to me as my children or people in trouble You  people talk as if they are deserve more care  than people. Put your money where your mouth is and quit breeding ,as every one of you so called breeders  adds to the overpopulation of dogs .And quit rehoming them so you can overbreed your bitches 2-3 times  per year

by wearesiamese on 04 January 2009 - 01:01

You want everyone else to stop breeding but  regularly rehome dogs you never trained or titled yourself.Get a life beyond dogs like normal human beings LOL  When you all stop breeding, rehoming and have rescued all the GSDs out there than get back and justify your anthropomorphising of dogs. I have tried to rescue and they would rather they stay in a foster home forever than outside on  a lot of acreage-absurd. beleive me when I say I will have more dogs when the time is right and if it is German Shepherds will not be bought from catty (pardon the people) like you bunch of nuts.Go join PETA since you think dogs should be treated better than people. I dont see anyone offering to take my dog either you are so full of it.You walk the walk but dont talk the talk.i would gladly rehome  this dog  if someone wanted her.  i will not place adds in local newspapers to find her a home. There now put your money where your mouth is and see if y'all are hypocrites or you are not

Isa

I totally agree with you it is such a great feeling to be in your house with your dog's.  My dog's love the outside snow and zero degrees they love it.  They get plenty of that but there is nothing like the feeling of having your dogs besides you in your house.   I agree 100% what Isa said she said it much better than i did.

AnjaBlue, I think you said it perfectly.

BTW, before wearesiamese slams me as a cat hater, I have four house cats and five previously feral barn cats.   All four of my GSD's spend a lot of time in the house, including two sleeping in the bedroom at night.
