I had a male like this dog, he had to respect the handler.  if he didn't,  he would nail them in a heartbeat. He never did well with women until I got him.  he would listen to  a woman and he would push them and act aggressively.
I brought the bastard home, muzzled him and we worked out our differences.  after we had our respect issue worked out, I had no problems with him, of course I was the only one who could tell him to do something, but we had a relationship built on mutual respect.

he too had bitten a previous owner and sent them to the ER.  it really wasn't the dogs fault, it was improper handling on the owners part.
you don't win a dogs respect or bond with them by taking them out of a kennel  once a week and do bitework.  this person didn't have time for a dog like this and shouldn't have been handling him. period.

80 stitches, shit the dog was pissed off at the onwer lol, maybe he been not feeding him for a while lol. 80 stitches is not an accident. Unless the dog is realy over the top, full attack on a person with no protection, and causing that kind of damaged, it's just hard to figure it out what went wrong, maybe there is hendler/dog issue? If not than the dog is bit over the top, if he lost touch with reality so bad that it gave the guy 80 stitches. He had the dog for one year, so this was not mistake. Most dog's in that kind of situation (let's assume stressful) would not engaged with that kind of force, this kind of attack required a lot of balls.

Poor guy first he gets bit by his own dog then someone rails him and calls him a dingleberry without ever meeting him or the dog no-one offers help or encouragement or even advice this is a really nice dog this should just be a hiccup for him and Frank (I have no idea who Frank is but I wish him the best of luck and a speedy recovery) Good luck and I hope to hear good news about Inges soon HEAD UP

I do think we should keep people's cell phone numbers off the board. JMO.

Elkoor, I totally agree. I would NEVER tolerate nor expect that to happen w/one of mine. Just yesterday we were doing some protection work w/Caleb and at one point I was looking at him thinking how lucky I am that he's so stable and trustworthy, b/c I was in a very vulnerable position and he easily could've ripped my face off by turning his head an inch or two. But believe it or not, he was even careful where he put his FEET, let alone his teeth.

DOGS KNOW THEIR HANDLER FROM A DECOY/ATTACKER. This was not an accident; the dog was pissed. Maybe he's nuts; maybe the owner's nuts; we will never know. I personally, would say a dog is almost justified if he's kept caged 6 days a week. That's no life for an intelligent, thinking creature, and I would say that if what we hear is true, the owner indirectly caused this by frustrating the dog to this point. Or, the dog has a screw loose. Again, we don't know, and probably never will.

jenni78 i should have deleted the cell# i just copy and pasted what he has on brewers kennels site, so it was out there for the public. i didn't do that intentionally

For someone to get help, that would require them being present and asking for help. Here we have 3rd hand (at least) info. Million things could have gone on here, non of us know. Sounds like and unexperienced handler with too much dog, but who really knows? Hope the guy does get help or finds the dog a fitting home.

I've met that dog as well, at least a year ago or maybe more.  Very, very nice dog, and not for anyone.  I don't know why it happened, but everytime I read one of these threads I realize that most people talking on them don't know their ear form their asshole.  Talking stuff about a dog and person they've never met.
