missbeeb, I believe the dog in the top photo is Bodo Vom Lierburg, don't know the one on the bottom...I can guess you're probably talking about the bottom photo, it sure does resemble the dog you have pictured. BOY this got alot of posts!!!

Thanks. mirasmom you're right!  Since he was born in 1962 that would be closer to 50 years than 30.

Mystere, I know a lot of the working lines look pretty much as they did many, many years ago... but that only brings us back to the old SL vs WL.  Have a look at Bob vom Patriot & Philipp aus der Nuen Hauffstrasse... what's not to like?  Bob's not for sale!

We all know (don't we?) that there's no good reason why we can't have both... working ability & good construction.  No point in hashing over old ground again & no point in posting a dog that looks like a Malamute cross and trying to pass it off as a Shepherd.

 I am still waiting for an answer to my questions posted to Sunsilver about the original purpose of this entire thread. I was courteous enough to respond to you here and to your PM, so I think "turn about is fair play"......... or will an answer, a truthful answer, just confirm what others have stated here as to the purpose? Here is a chance to set us straight.

Jen, I understand that you can "click" on a phot (not sure if right or left) and get into about it, including where it comes from when they are cut and pasted. NEVER worked for me, but I am a techno-idiot. May be a "MAC-thing." :-)

Mystere is correct about how one can often see the URL for a photo with MACs. But in this case, the URL would have been the Pedigree site link. Let's just say I am the internet queen. If it is on the internet, I will probably be able to find it. Sometimes it takes a little work, and in this case, it was only a little work.

Hodie, sorry for not responding to your question sooner. I was getting tired of being jumped on over this, and felt that even if I DID post the truth, certain people were going to call me a liar.

Well, I believe very strongly in telling the truth, so here it is. As I've said before, this was a bit of mischief on my part. Yes, I DO have a friend who was admiring that pup, and saying how much she'd like to have him, if only she didn't already own 2 Shilohs. Due to his short coat and colouring, I thought he looked a lot like a working line GSD, and I was curious to know what sort of comments he might get from the people on this board if they didn't know he was a Shiloh. As you know, many of the people here make the automatic connection: Shiloh Shepherd = crap. QED, case closed.

So, as I've said before, you caught on darn quick, and yes, I'm wiping the egg off my face.

Am I sorry I did this?  With all the other real crap, backstabbing, backbiting, slandering that goes on on this board? Why should I be?  Was anyone hurt?  Anyone called filthy names? Nope.

Would I do something like this again?

BTW, the two pictures posted upstream are the 1967 VA1, Bodo von Lierberg, and the 2007 VA1 Pakros d'Ulmental.  And, as someone pointed out, I can't count. It was 40 years between the two dogs, not 30!
