Excellent point!

there are many people who may not wish to bash somebody but  say something a little more subtle like, ' have ever considered breeder B he/she has nice dogs."  This can be a person trying to give a hint as to what they would do without coming right out and saying breeder A sucks....

That is my normal course. Much more tactful to suggest an alternatative, keep the "whys" to ones self. Only the most obtuse recipient will fail to get the message.

I will not sell tow puppies to anyone but a very experienced trainer I know I can trust to raise them properly, separate them at the apropriate time so they can develop to their full potential. NEVER to a pet home.

Never rely on an ex partners word for any thing . Good or bad .

Really some great suggestions folks. Keep them coming. Many here have already written what I would write and since I don't have a lot of time these days, I am happy to see the thoughts coming from you!!!

If Mystere does not compile this, I will. I think I might put it on my website and also hand it to prospective buyers who come my way, especially since I rarely breed.

I will compile for both threads this weekend.

That would be great Nia.  I hope people take advantage of having the great information when buying and selling.  Would you please include the web sites for both OFA and SV so people know where to look for hip and elbow ratings?

 Good idea!! Will do!

Hodie,

I think it would be better to put the compilation on your site  and maybe a few club sites.   We could then simply reference it and provide the urls periodically on the pdb.  If left here, it will simply be subject to the next wave of "drama."  On your site, it can stay up without being hijacked into Outer Mongolia.

I would put most of the suggestions on a page on our club website. There are a couple I don't agree with, but I can leave them out. Most of them are really GOOD. I think I would put a reasonable price range for both show and working lines on there too.

 Hi Mystere,

I will be happy to put the condensed and organized list on a web site page and you can provide the URL here and keep it in the forefront of posts.

I don't see the need for editing it myself. The overall caveat would simply be "here are ideas for a novice (and not so novice) buyer (or breeder) to think about before leaping!

Thank you for doing this. Maybe it can prevent just a few cases where people feel they have to come to this forum to complain about deals gone bad.
