Dont know anyone looking for a long coated Black/ Sliver and he is 10 months of age out of working lines. A friend of mine has him in Texas. Jerry

Jerry, please give me info on the blk/silver coated male. Thanks, vomveiderheiss@nemontel.net New mom of Meeka the Tracking dog, who has obtained her TD and TDX titles already. Sorry had to share.

Amazing what can happen when dog and handler click.Sad part is I'm sure the dog would have done fine with just about anybody if the knew what they were doing.vomveiderheiss, nice job, instead of taking the effort of making up excusess and blaming the poor dog for things that you were doing wrong and threatning to take it to the pound you put the effort into finding that the dog was in fact what it was supposed to be and you did so in record time! Keep up the good work, the only limit you have is the one you set for yourself.Meeka is a fine girl.......You will have many happy years with her

Brand, this will answer to your question: Long Stock Coat The individual hairs are longer, not always straight and definitely not lying close and flat to the body. The coat is considerably longer inside and behind the ears, on the back of the forearm and usually in the loin area. Often there will be tufts in the ears and feathering from elbow to pastern. The trousers along the thigh are long and thick. The tail is bushy with light feathering underneath. This coat type is not as weather proof as the stock coat and is therefore undesirable. Dogs with long stock coats are commonly narrow chested and have narrow, over stretched muzzles. Effective January 1, 1999 long stock coated dogs will not be acceptable for breeding purposes. This reflects changes implemented by the SV.

You're welcome Brand :) I don't nessassarly agree to ban Long stockcoats from breeding. I mean is ok to breed a shitty VA dog who cant take hard hit to the sleeve but is not ok to breed to a perfectly good longstock coat with good "a" normal and super temperament and who can do the work and get good conformation scores, without having to be judged by the longstock coat that they have... Thats why the showlines are going down hill because judges are only looking at the coat/structure of the dog, not the working ability. I might be wrong. Just the way i feel about this issue.

How can you tell if a puppy is going to be a long stock coat? That may have sounded dumb, but I have a puppy who has longer type hair then some of her siblings but she doesn't have flags of hair like a long hair.
