sunshine, I've bought the 2004 german sieger show video and saw some well known dogs doing protection work and it was patethic to even see them work! Maybe you have some list of dogs that can? Can you list them and possible video so we can judge them for ourselves? Also the way I'm going I'm probably most liley switch over to the working lines because I'm not going to pay over 1000 on an unproven pup that probably cant even work. I don't give a heck if the pup has Ursus lines or is the daughter of Yasko,etc... I do admit that theirs some dogs out there that can work... and it's owners doesn't feel like showing because of the hugemoungous politics thats out there. I agree with ya there Kyle... so far all of his hard work went to hell because people are so money hungry today that all they look in their showline pups are dollar bills walking around... I've also notice that some breeders raised their price of their longcoats... Is it because theirs rumors going on about S.V possibliy allowing the longcoat back into conformation? It seems odd that now breeders are asking 1200 and up for a longcoat that doesn't have any breeding rights at all.

Debbie, I would try a line going back to Rikkor, it is a proven combination with the Ursus line. There are a few excellent sons of Rikkor in the US/Can. VA-1 Kevin Murtal is with the Bullinger kennel, Randy has VA-Puma von der Orangerie, There is also V-Rick dei Verdi Colli in Colorado and in CA we have VA-1 Superioues Zathan. Randy also has VA-Ronaldo vom Zellergrund, a son of Larus, who has VERY dark blk/red pigment. In CA we also have VA-1 Urban v. Gleisenauer Schloss, I have a litter out of Urban now and the puppies have AWESOME pigment. You have a lot of options for improving pigmentation. Brittany, are you a helper? A working judge? If so, how can you judge the bitework of any dogs? Especially not being there in person. Many showline dogs can and do work very well, and "work" is about a lot more than the dog's natural abilities...its the way he/she was trained, the helper that was used in training, the helper in the trail/show. Good dogs in both lines are hard to find. Workinglines have issues of their own...just like any bloodline. You have to look at the dog, not the pricetag. Breeders are far from being money hungry, maybe one day you will get to see how much EXPENSE, TIME and ENERGY goes into breeding/raising a litter and promoting your kennel.

Brittany how many dogs have you breed. You bash a person for trying to improve piment. And then you take a glance at the sieger bite work and become an judge on quality there. Have you been to a sieger. Do you even begin to understand how difficult biting in an arena with that many people. Sounds and other dogs. How many are there at you local club at the bite sessions. I actually feel sick thinking about you as an potencial breeder, Ghandi Arlett made an good bite dont you think. But what about your opinion on him. Is he the dog to use ore is he biting becaurse he is sharp. Maybe a little to sharp to put on any bitch. Will you breed on phenotype. Or Genotype. Come on Brittany convince me that you know as much as you want us to belive you do. And for and answer to the breeder Find a dog with Leif v.d Noriswand. He is a proven pigment improver.

Here we go... the showline breeders defending the fact that theirs some showlines that cant work but contuine breeding them. olga. No im not a helper and no im not a judge. I look for flying dogs... HIgh drived dogs...Dogs that really wants to bite onto the sleeve as much as possible (full grip) and will out when the command is ordered... NO CHEAT shots. I do not need to be there when I can buy videos. It's just the same, unless if it was poorly done :) I'm not saying that all Showlines are bad... as of matter of fact a gentleman who joined the club that i belong too recently (few months ago) has a very nice bitch that came from the Kolenda kennels had an extreme drives.. the bitch are the lines of Hill farbenspiel and Yasko farbenspiel. Great combos as of drives... the bitch also has great pigmentation, so far. the bitch needs grow a bit more until i see the full pigment :) I hope the owners will get the bitch at least a SchH2 or better SchH3.

Court Jester- You are no judge, no helper, no breeder, no experience, no nothing....just MOUTH....Just here as an online irritant.

Urban. He is in S. Cal. Kennel is Lundborg-Land. It would be 3-3 on Ursus if that is the sort of breeding you are interested in. Urban is AWESOME! Working ability, colour, conformation and coat.

Hi V Donar von Haus Agee Sch1, KK1. He is very dominant for his color and throws super temperment and drive to his puppies. Donar is a Matzo vom Kirschental grandson.

SOME of this was very interesting to read. My suggestion to ANYONE wanting to ask a question and NOT get bashed for it, should go to a private discussion board which is moderated. This is absolutely rediculous that one can't ask a question with certain persons bashing the one asking the question or bashing another. Go back and read your response, the ones that love to bash...how stupid and immature they sound. No wonder this site has gone down the drain...cause of you bashers! Anyhow, it was interesting to read the comments that WERE meaningful and looking up the dogs that were mentioned.

I still think that Brittany should answer my quistions to her. Let us hear you great wisdom. You seem to have an opinion on everything. So lets her your answer on the breeding. You now ridicule the showline breeders. However on the message board you also have great wisdom on all the showline questions. Geno feno, any serius breeder knows about it lets her. I tend to think that you have to much time to be on the message board. Spend your time reading bloodlines, listen to experience and try to know what you talk about before opening your mouth. I have had GSD for a long time and every day i learn somthing new. People like you just make this forum cloudy and decrease the value of this great site.

One dog that I know of is Karo van de Herdersfarm. I have seen 2 of his children and both of his kids have the deep BLK/RED pigment, drive and temperament, structure, and movement! JMO, Dawn Bonome
