You'd have to watch the episode and/or ask Cesar Millan that, Maggie.  It was his decision to use that correction method on that dog in that moment.

I tell you what, Maggs,  regarding the Ventura PD and any schutzhund club, provide one shred of proof or documentation that backs up any  of the allegations made on the website you linked.  Just because you read something posted by a blogger to her own website or any other does not make it true.  Where's the beef, maggs?

We have all told you there are people who do bad things.  Are you suggesting that because of what you read in a blog these practices  are rampant in schutzhund or police departments?  If so, if that's what you are saying, where's your proof, maggs?

MaggieMae writes: "I was using the term Hard Dog because that is how Slamdunc referred to them. I call them overly aggressive dogs -- even vicious dogs."

Wow, MaggieMae, that's incredibly ignorant, even for you.  You took a term in common usage, refused to learn what the term means, and made up your own definition of said term, which happens to be an incorrect definition.

"In my opinion, these Hard Dogs should be left to the Police/Military -- not for Sport."

Thereby proving that you do not understand what a hard dog is.  A hard dog does not equal a vicious dog.  You totally misunderstand.

"Start "circling the wagons" -- Deny and Justify"

Oh, dear, you are the one desperately circling your lone Wagon of Ignorance.

"If you don't like what I have to say -- tough. It is my opinion, and I stand by what I have said. I have a clear conscience.
I really don't need any more responses to this thread, I've got the picture."

This is really funny and SO explains your political views:  "I read/heard something.  I will believe it to be true and the norm.  I will broadcast it.  When people tell me it is not the norm, I will not believe them.  I will state emphatically that I neither understand nor care for actually learning about a subject of which I am ignorant, and brandishing my ignorance as a (rather dull) sword, I will, with a clear conscience, stick to my original uninformed opinion and ask people to please stop trying to educate me."

maggs says in response to me asking her why she believes the uncorroborated statements she read in a blog, when the blog itself does not even offer any documentation of it's allegations:

"Why don't you prove that it isn't true.  I didn't read about any lawsuit against her for specifically naming the people involved in this abusive behaviour"

AHAHAHHAAHAA!!!!!  Wow, we have a winner!  This is a humdinger of an argument even for YOU!    Do you understand you are asking me to disprove what someone said in a blog that never happened in the first place? You have got to be kidding!

I suggest that until Maggs is able to come up with something credible to back up these very serious   allegations against schutzhund clubs and California  PD K9 units that she so desperately wants to believe are true,  we all ignore this thread and let it die.  She will in all likely hood once again start shouting that " your silence is deafening" but don't fall for it, it's just a really pitiful cry for attention.

Maggie - you have never been to any type of club - you don't participate an anytype of training - and you don't watch tv - how in the world did you find this article?  You live a very sheltered life -

This might be off subject but I will say it as a point - my son and I were sitting in a doctor's office one day and there was a child and a mother sitting over on the other side - he was cracking his knuckles - she told him to stop - he asks why? --She says because if you don't and you crack your knuckles to much it will makes your fingers grow - it puts air in the joints and they will actually grow longer.  He said ok - my son and I looked at each other and said wow - I didn't know that.  We both believed her.... but after I started thinking about that - I thought - you know I don't know that women and I just believed what she said and believed it as fact - I didn't do any research - I didn't go anywhere to find out if that was true - I didn't consult a professional - I just took what she said as FACT....  You are that way - you took this article - without any research - going place - etc - and said it must be true....  Get out more Maggie maybe you will see the world in a different light.

"The best thing you can do is to start going out to clubs. Learn from watching what goes on....
have an open mind, go see for yourself, feel free to ask questions"

"if you ever want to actually find out what schutzhund is all about then get off your ass and go visit some clubs"

"If you want to make an informed opinion, go see it for yourself."

"You can't beat or hang a dog into being a great schutzhund dog, or a great police K9.... Helicoptering was NEVER a training method, it was something done by assholes who lost their temper with their dogs."

"There are assholes in every walk of life including dog training. I knew a big time AKC obedience competitor who.....Does that mean the overwhelming majority of AKC obedience club members practice hanging and helicoptering their dogs and that it is considered acceptable training methods to AKC? Of course not."

To which MaggieMae responds:

"Sue -- go away; you have added nothing to the conversation that is worthwhile"

[shakes head] oh, my, my, my, MaggieMae.
