rotkaeppchen, Jabina Dighte is one heck of a stong female and nice dog overall, but..... she works like a female....look at this and you'll understand what I am talking about  http://www.youtube.com/user/dogsportguy#p/a

Greg, I certainly wasn't slighting Ralph's dog Billie.  I've seen her work many times.  She is wonderful.

Just pointing out, speaking of strong females, John Jabina's female works very strong too.

I've seen Dighte work in person....very nice dog....and handler. Billie is very nice also! No need to compare them to males...you can't! They work like what they are...very good dogs! Never heard anyone state that a male works like a female....!

Yes, Karen , there is often a difference in the way males and females work.  Part of that is simply that too many folks simply train and title a bitch to breed her, rather than compete with her.  Billie does work like a male. Not all her siblings, even some of her brothers, work the way she does.   If you did not know she was a bitch, you'd think she was a male.  Her mother, Haiti (also a member of the Canadian WUSV team previously) worked the same way.

These are simply the type of bitches from whom people want puppies, based upon what they see on the field, iow, once they see the bitch work.  That does not happen with every bitch on a trial field.  People ask about puppies from Billie every time Ralph trials hers and it was the exact same thing with her dam, Haiti.

by Ron  "No need to compare them to males...you can't!"  sure you can...up to now, this is the only bitch I have seen that can match the power of any stong male I've seen, and I've been fortunate enough to see (in training) and work some of the top GSD's in this country.

also by Ron "Never heard anyone state that a male works like a female....!"  sure you have, haven't you seen a male work and said to yourself, "what a homo"  I have, plenty of times.

so have I as far as seeing and working top dogs. I have never heard someone compare a male to a female......NEVER! I've also seen and worked very strong females. What did Billie do that is male like? I missed that part in the video?  I worked a bitch, Xenta von der Adelegg. Power personified!

Ron,

No doubt, Carlos has some really nice dogs!

"I have never heard someone compare a male to a female......NEVER!"  I'm comparing a female to a male, which doesnt happen too often....maybe its just semantics, but there is a first time for everything

Take a break guys. You should have seen Ben at the Canadian Nationals. High protection. 98 points. All male and no questions asked. His sister {litterer mate} lacks the conviction that he brings. At this level who can tell and care when dreams come true.

Thank you for explaining that...so when she works  she is like a male because she is strong and powerful and only males are strong and powerful....but when it is time for puppies then she is a female because males can't do that...
