Then TECHNICALLY, WDA is not a German shepherd dog org competing against UScA, which is also not a German shepherd dog org. They just both happen to primarily have German shepherd dogs IN THEM.

The complete name of the organization is GSDCA-WDA. Is it lost on everyone that GSDCA stands for German Shepherd Dog Club of America? Whereas USA stands for United SCHUTZHUND Clubs of America?
Neither one is competing for anything. There has never been a problem with people belonging to both organizations or any other organization until Johannes decided to MAKE it a problem. If anything, DVG is a "competing organization," as its primary purpose is to hold trials, which is what USA was developed and promoted for.
As USA discovered more than 30 years ago, if everyone decides to pick up their marbles and go home, the people who still really want to play marbles will  get together and make their own place to play. If those of us who enjoy the sport want to do it, we will find a way to do it with our without the sanction of a few delusionally self-important petty despots at a Missouri  based dog club.

...... been a member for 20+ years....Have been a WDA member for about 8 years.... Never had a "conflict of interest"...... clubs were dual members..... participated in both for the betterment of my dogs.  Each club has a right to require my membership inorder to participate..... NO club has a right to tell me in this country what organizations I can or cannot associate with !!!   This is the United States.... not Germany..... I don't care what Germany requires..... This amendment has no validity in reality..... Johannes and Lyle and the elites have decided what they want, and they don't care about the regular member.  Our club has decided to maintain its association with GSDCA-WDA and it's members will be leaving UScA. I know we are just lowly members and we don't compete at the national level.... be we still count.  This has really been gut wrenching.  We will no longer have the UScA conformation show in the spring.... it wil become the WDA Regional.

For those of you who do not see this as another threat to your individual freedom.... well just go stick your head back in the sand.  This IS a freedom issue....   I don't want to leave UScA..... but I will.... it IS a matter of principle.  Hopefully there will be a lot of people who feel the same way, so that maybe the "elite group" will reconsider and change this bi-law.  In the meantime I will remain a member of a club that allows me to individually vote and voice opinions.  It isn't perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but it also isn't taking my individual freedom of association.

This post by Barkingoak says it all. Shows that Lyle and Johannes don't care about the members only care about their egos.

Join a club who cares one member one vote = WDA!
