K-9 Blek, the partner of Deputy Ted Dahlin was killed in the line of duty on 12/22/2009 at 17:30 hours. Blek was killed tracking two burglary suspects. Blek got separated from his handler in some heavy brush, he was found a short distance away dead from injuries sustained durning his battle with the suspects. When later captured, both suspects had sustained bites from Blek. It was apparent that Blek died during the fight. Please keep Deputy Dahlin and his family in your prayers

Blek was strangled by a suspect. All suspects in the original burglary were caught and all the adult suspects are sitting in the Harris County Jail.
The police dog was a Czech German Shepherd  and he was about five years old.

Another example of a GSD laying down his life for his handler.  I hope they throw the book at the bastards.  Blek was doing his job.  They are pure trash.  I hope they fall down alot while in jail if you catch my drift.

Perfect example of how tough dog will never back down. I hope the perps will get maximum sentenced for their act. Best wishes to the handler and his family.

Since K9's are assigned badge numbers and are considered Officers of the Law  the bastared who killed him will  get the same amount of time as if killed a human officer.
I hope Deputy Dahlin and his family find peace.

He probably would not have but one of the accounts of the story I read said that the dog was biting one of the suspects when the other one came up behind him and got him in a choke hold around his neck with his arm so the dog never had a chance to retreat even if he was so inclined.

Are you sure I though that because it's a dog the animal laws are less sevire and it is not equal to killing a police officer. I though it was like max 7 years?

Do the same to the dirt bag that strangled the dog... It,s only fitting.

It said that they both sustained bites, plus it's kind fo hard to choke a dog.
