I am so glad Orso is doing well,  it is great to always hear "we have urine output".
Always,

Being a transplant recipient myself, I'm not sure I would put one of my own dogs through a transplant. Those anti-rejection drugs have many side effects and a suppressed immune system is no picnic either. The dog will be suseptible to every virus, bacteria and fungus that comes along and easily prone to infections. My biggest worry would be that the dog will not be able to tell you how he is feeling so may not be able to catch problems at the onset. I don't know, I would worry constantly and keep the dog away from other dogs as they may be carriers of all manner of things that a dog with a normal immune system would not have to worry about.

That being said, I truly wish Orso the best and would love to shake his paw someday. I will be praying for him.

This is certainly an important perspective for any future consideration.   Our dogs most often cannot "tell" us when they are feeling off or give any other potentially crucial information regarding their health and well-being, prior to issues becoming major concerns.   Thank you for that imput.
