GSDtravels

You have quite a nerve saying anyone doesn't know when to quit.  Who in hell do you think you are?  Who put you in charge here?  Who appointed you?  Why do you feed on controversy?  What do you think you're trying to accomplish here?  You hate everybody here, you hate working dogs, you despise Schutzhund and you think the GSD people have "taken over" the general topics section.  What don't you get Maggie?  Nobody "took over" anything, although your trying your best to take over.  You are a bully.  Let's try to explain this to you one more time.

THIS BOARD WAS STARTED FOR AND BECAUSE OF THE GSD.  When Oli added other breeds, they did not have a forum.  When the political crap started, the board was split, although, I think Oli had this in mind to begin.  But, the point is, we were already here, there was nothing to "take over".  Other breeds are not as active in dog sports.  People with pets go to pet boards to discuss pets, not necessarily by breed.  People that have Goldens and Labs most likely are not hunters anymore, they have them as PETS.  There are not many breeds that are being used for their original utilitarian purpose.  That's why this board was so successful for the working breed people.  There are few breeds that are as active in WORKING and/or their original purpose.  Nobody has been turned away, THEY DON'T COME HERE TO BEGIN WITH.  The breeders put the pedigrees up but don't care to discuss what they're doing with their dogs because most are JUST breeding for the PET industry.

This is a forum to come together and discuss training, breeding, housing, feeding and anything else that has to do with WORKING the breed.  Pet people stumble here, some stay and end up being or wanting to be working dog people.  Or they remain pet people but become interested in the working aspect of their chosen breed so choose to stay and are not only welcomed, but accepted.  There have been Malinois people here since it was a GSD board and they were welcomed and stayed because they have a common interest in WORKING their dogs, they were not turned away or told not to discuss Mals.

It's all about everything you HATE and yet you continue your BS because you insist that we're keeping everyone else away.  NEWS FLASH---they're not interested!  IT IS BASICALLY A WORKING DOG DISCUSSION FORUM AND ALL OTHER BREEDS ARE WELCOME BUT THEY DON'T SHOW UP.

Sue, I'm still laughing at your NINCOMPOOP!!!
I left here last night in disgust at a comment from the vile one to GSDtravels, and here I am the next morning at it is still at it, unreal!! I noticed another veiled "threat" for GSDtravels, now to me THAT'S bullying. Now I have a strong stomach, but this low life is just sickening. If this person, and I use that term lightly, is a 68 year old female with 30+ plus years working in Government then I'm a banana!!! I think it might have been cleaning toilets for the Government, it doesn't have the brains for anything else.
Someone made a comment earlier that it is playing us all, that is a fact, it is wallowing in all the attention, sick and oh so sad. I will end with one of my favorite sayings.....
There for the grace of God go I!!!

Sunsilver -- I think you misunderstood what I said about the GSD. I said that the Protection Phase of Schutzhund -- not the Tracking and Obedience phases -- is putting the GSD at risk of becoming labeled as a dangerous breed/at risk Breed -- thus, some insurance companies won't insure if the homeowner has a GSD and more laws are being passed by animal control for dogs perceived to be dangerous.

I guess a person might think that if she had never DONE anything with her dog.

AGAIN with the threats? What an idiot! It blew its wad with that low, unsavory and disgusting crack about Travel's marriage. Clearly, it needs serious medication.

maggs are you aware that each dog must undergo a temperament test at the start of EVERY schutzhund trial?   The judge instructs the handler to  walk the dog on a loose lead through and amongst a group of people.  The dog is not allowed to heel in a formal fashion, this is not a heeling exercise it's to demonstrate soundness of temperament, demonstrate  the dog is completely neutral to people and safe.  The judge watches very carefully for any sign of instability or overly sharpness, if he sees even subtle signs he will then  push the dog further to see if the dog is stable or not and will not hesitate to DQ the dog if he determines  the dog is unstable.

Are you aware that during the Hold & Bark the dog is off lead and actively guarding but is called out to his handler and NEVER allowed a grip?  What does this tell you about obedience and control?????    Did you know that throughout  the entire schHIII protection phase the dog is allowed a grip only 5 times and each time, the dog must release on command?  What does this tell you about obedience and control????    Did you know that during the entire protection phase SchHI, II III the dog is off leash and must demonstrate by his obedience that he is under 100% control  of the handler and if at any point the judge determines the dog is not under control the dog is dismissed?  Did you know that immediately following the protection phase the dog must lie quietly at his handlers feet while the judge delivers the critique and if by chance the dog should act out of control or aggressive towards anyone or the crowd in general the judge can STILL dq the dog for being out of control even though he has already completed judging the dog  and all 3 phases are  over?????

If the people who think that schutzhund creates some sort of vicious, biting dog would take the time to understand what they were looking at before pontificating about it they wouldn't look like such fools, and this includes YOU maggie.  All dogs can bite, schutzhund is about obedience, control, strength of character.
