Hodie asked me to post this: >The Food and Drug Administration says a company is voluntarily recalling all >unexpired lots of its "Pro-Pet Adult Daily Vitamin Supplement" tablets for >dogs due to possible Salmonella contamination. > >The company, United Pet Group, says the product was sold nationally at >various retailers. > >The supplement comes in 100-count white plastic bottles with a light blue >label, and UPC code 26851-01800. The affected products are those with >expiration dates on or before "06/13". The expiration date can be found >imprinted vertically on the right side of the product label. > >These products are being removed from retail stores and dog owners should >immediately stop feeding these supplements to their pets. > >Consumers who have purchased the product are urged to contact United Pet >Group or the place of purchase for further direction. Consumers may contact >United Pet Group at 1-800-645-5154 ext. 3, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 >am to 5:00 pm EST. > >A dog food is also under a voluntary recall due to a possible Salmonella >contamination. > >The recall involves Natural Balance's Sweet Potato & Chicken Dry Dog Food in >the 5-pound and 28-pound bags with a "Best By" date of June 17th, 2011. > >The food is distributed only in pet specialty stores in several states >including here in Colorado. > >If you have any questions, contact the company at (800) 829-4493, or >info@naturalbalanceinc.com. > >No dogs have gotten sick from either products and the recalls are pretty >much a precaution, but if you have used these items here is what to look >for. > >Pets with Salmonella infections may be lethargic and have diarrhea or bloody >diarrhea, fever, and vomiting. > >Some pets will have only decreased appetite, fever and abdominal pain. >Infected but otherwise healthy pets can be carriers and infect other animals >or humans. If your pet has consumed the recalled products and has these >symptoms, contact your veterinarian. > >People who have handled these products could also be at risk. Symptoms for >people are pretty much the same as they are for dogs, and if you have these >symptoms it would probably be a good idea to see your doctor. > > > >

Hodie offered a lot to this forum and was a tremendous asset.   She was extremely helpful to a friend of mine who's dog had a very difficult to diagnose terminal illness.  I hope Hodie is doing well and wish her the best.  Mystere, thanks for posting that info from her.
