Mrs Andrea Betz (owner of von Nimbus kennel in Germany),

Greetings

I bought from you Xaro von Nimbus which I received on the 22nd of October this year, prior to buying him I asked a few questions which you in turn answered all precisely, one of those questions was about his height to which your reply was you did not check his height recently (then he was 10 months old) but he is about 62-63 cms and you added that when he is done he will be 65 or minimum 64 cms and not to worry about that and I took your word on it with trust.
After I received him on the same day of his 1st birthday (12 months)I noticed he was too short in height and upon measuring his height three times on a level concreted surface and repositioning him each time I found it to be only 59 cms and I will give as a benefit of doubt one more cm, so he is not more than 60 cms. And I want to say here that I am a civil engineer and much of my work involves setting precise levels on construction sites using specialized tools for that and I myself have nil doubt about the 59 cms. I sent you an email with three questions regarding:
1. The tail
2. The feet
3. The height
And you only replied regarding the tail and feet and ignored the height. Again I sent you another e mail this time only regarding the height and you chose to totally ignore me and did not reply at all !!
I am sending you this e mail and at the same time I shall make a copy and post it on the PDB, same site you advertised him for sale, my only demand from you is an answer/explain to a simple and straight question:
Why did you mislead me on his height?

Waiting for your kind reply

Sincerely
Ibrahim Abulaban

I would imagine that it's possible that at the age of only 12 months old, he will continue to grow a bit and could reach 64/65 cm?

I agree.. if he's only 12 months then he has some growing to do. If he is already 59cm then he should most definately make 60 (minimum) which means he is to standard.

most dogs don't get much taller after 12 months, a little but not much.

Whether it will reach 64 or 65 cms or not is not what hurts me, what really does is sincerity and transparency between the breeder and the buyer. I prefer to wait and see what Mrs Andrea has to say in her reply, I believe I deserve an honest explanation.
I thank you Czech DDR lover and hope he will grow some more but again that is not my question or worry.

Some friends who are more familiar with the West German Showline said the same as Uber Land stated above, he may gain a little more height after 12 months but will not reach 65 nor 64 cms.
To make myself clear If she told me his true height most probably I would still buy him, but it makes a lot of difference to me between getting a correct true reply on a straight question/concern and  getting a deceiving reply. That is the subject of greatest concern to me here.
As a friend told me he might even turn out to be the best GSD I ever owned, who knows he might !!.

Ibrahim,
You just want a reply, I hope you get it. But
there is that time when your dog looks like a stretched limo.
The thing I always worry about is proportion. They go through
stages until they are fully grown. 3 years old...... I always figure
about 85% of the height in 12 months. But that is not written in
stone anywhere, can be more or less....small breeds you just
about know in 6 months. If you look at them at 8-10 weeks that
is generally the proportions you are going to get, height to length.

A more appropriate question would be does he bite and Chase a ball?

I think our friend here is more upset over the fact that the breeder told him this dog was already taller than he is now (at a later date than when she supposedly measured him).  Ibrahim specifically asked because it was important to him and she didn't have time to measure the dog and give a more precise measurement?  She gave him an estimate and a promise that he "should" reach the height he wanted.  I find that disturbing too.  Your reputation rests on how others perceive your honesty.  I myself find this a wee bit deceitful.  She should have taken the time to get a current measurement and let Ibrahim decide if he wanted to take the chance the dog would continue to grow.  He may grow and everyone will be happy...then again, he may not.  I wouldn't want to risk my reputation on something as simple as a measurement.

At this point I think he is asking, if he turns the corner does
he leave his butt on the other side because he is so long.
Conformation is important.....the standard.

For working dog people and I am one,...I always look
at the drives in a puppy.....also conformation.
