Sporty
Yes, i can force her to be groomed, but you and others fail to understand that once you have a good partnership going with an animal you do not abuse it by exerting undue force and that is what i would have to do in her case, That may mess up the relationship for a long time if not ever, Make no mistake if she needs a correction anytime she gets one and she knows it but in this case it is more than a hard correction needed
As i repeat myself it is no big deal the Dog keeps herself clean and never looks out of condition It is just a whim of some on here to want to dominate there animals to the extent the Dog will no longer give you everything its got,
i have seen it happen several times in my years with Dogs, As i said some time back i competed in Sheep Herding Competitions i have seen some things which an owner did because his dog did not bow down to his every whim, The Dog has Spirit break that Spirit and you break a bond with the dog then that dog will not work for you the same
However both yourself and Jenni have posted since i asked you but no answer, so i ask again how long have you been in the Sport of ScH a simple question to answer

I DO NOT DO SCHUTZHUND! Please, I hope no one thought that!!

22 years.

Steve, I thought we had agreed not to address each other? I was doing a great job, but you're addressing me and we all know how well you and I get along. I was trying to do the right thing and ignore you entirely before we have another meltdown like last time.

"...once you have a good partnership going with an animal..."

I would expect a good partnership to entail the dog trusting me enough to allow me to groom him/her even if he/she doesn't necessarily like it.

"...how long have you been in the Sport of ScH..."

You first.

Has nothing to do with being in SCHUTZHUND

If I depended on Schutzhund to run my kennel OR MY OBEDIENCE OF MY DOGS....I would be in  TIM BUCK TWO!!

The  Police apprehension K9  Gator, a Tiekerhook son in the avitar to the right  never ever heard the word  SCHUTZHUND>>> He is sitting under my CHRISTMAS tree...for PHOTOS>>>>

Steve:    WE are not against you...You like, me, just do not like criticism...WE understand...IZZY  will get brushed....go brush her...!!!
IF NOT SEND HER TO ME IN TEXAS>>>I WILL TAKE HER OFF YOUR HANDS>>>>

What does the sport of Schutzhund have to do with grooming?

And if your have trouble trimming your dogs nails, try doing some bungee work on pavement. Good training and exercise for the dog and it keeps the nails nice and short.

I've never had to trim any of my shepherds nails.  I think I could, but have never had too.

Whew. Glad I'm not the only one who missed the schutzhund/grooming connection.

Red Sable - who does the nails, or how do your dogs nails get trimmed?

They stay short on their own.  They obviously get worn down naturally.  My dogs are not kenneled and we have a gravel driveway.  That must do it.
