That would be disgusting!

How did you know my female was in heat?

by eichenluft on 19 January 2011 - 02:01

Molly doesn't recall Karen not having a "lot of fans".  Molly doesn't recall hearing any complaints about Karen's judging or placements at all, in fact.  Molly personally also doesn't have a problem with Karen judging the 2011 Seiger Show.  But Molly and the other BAC members are interested in discussing the choices to make the best decisions for our members and our SS.

All I have to offer on all of this, is the USA Sieger show will be what it has always been. Lacking in bite-work. Lida

Personally, I recall many complaints from people in my group.

I could care less about what is best for USA. Why have someone judging that the Germans attending the show will ridicule?

Well, lah-de-dah about your group!!!

You said you aren't going and you don't care about UScA, so, why make comments as though you do?
Move on and quit being a blowhard!

Actually, OGBS, if you read from the start of the thread, she said she IS going, and she's already booked her travel, round trip.  I don't think it's unreasonable of someone--whether they were planning on going to the event or not--to be asking questions about additional judges for this show, given that typically judges are confirmed well in advance of the entry period being opened.  Few people like sending entry fees in when they don't know who will be judging the classes they wish to enter...

Hexe,
I stand corrected.
Her post about not showing a female period made me think she had changed her mind about going.
More importantly, if she was in this for the right reasons it wouldn't matter who the judges are.
This is the problem with our breed and probably dog showing and trialing altogether.
Too many whiny babies.
(I'm only going if someone is there to massage my wimpy little ego)

Let me see, if the Packers don't like who the NFL picked to referee the NFC Championship Game this weekend should they call the Bears and say, sorry we aren't showing up?

My god, what is wrong with people???
Doesn't anyone ever do this stuff because they just enjoy being with their dogs and it's a good excuse to get out of town for awhile?

OGBS, what are the right reasons. I have never met a knowledgeable show person who did not care who the judge is.

What exactly are the right reasons for exhibiting a dog in a conformation show. What is the benefit of adhering to SV standards and exhibiting a dog at a show of this magnitude to a non SV judge. The placing cannot even be recorded on the papers.

If UScA chooses to use non SV judges because they do not agree with the emphasis that is placed on character, then I support them 100%. Somehow, I do not believe this to be the case. We will see.

Rik,
What you call knowledgeable is what I call a crybaby.
I understand why it is important to the crybabies, but, I don't agree with it.
It's part of the problem. "I'm not showing up because that judge won't score my dog the way I want it to be scored." You see how this turns in to a problem. You spent more than enough time in the A.S.S. world you should be able to make the connection as to what this type of thinking does for the breed.

As for Karen, you may want to refer to the USA web site.
She is qualified to judge the USA Sieger Show.

And as to the "magnitude" of this event, there are probably about 1500 people in this country that actually care about this event, maybe less, but, I'll give in and double the number for you to 3000.
Hmm....3000 people out of 300+million?
Rather small in magnitude.
