Is that someone a monk?  I have taken a vow of silence so therefore, I write and I write and I write but mostly I'm just right.  Just kidding, if it works for you, it's correct.

Let me explain something to you. I am not Mr. Lebowski. You're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the Dude. So, that's what you call me. You know, that, or his dudeness, or duder, or el duderino, if you're not into the whole brevity thing.

I try to refrain from constantly taking a step backwards to suck the dog closer to me to make a better front position just to make it appear that the dumbbell presentation is better than what it really is . Instead I try to get the dog to improve the presentation on his/her own and just marking that behavior. Over time, they learn which behavior gets the reward the fastest. Every dog is different so this may not work for other dogs.  Just my two cents. Not an expert. Just sharing.

Teaching the position.

This would be how you don't want it to look.   I think this is the way most people who truly don't understand the retrieve not only perceive the exercise, but believe this to be correct.

This is another example of what inexperienced people accept for retrieves.  This is the type "many" people end up with because of a lack of willingness to seek out someone who understands the exercise AND an example (I'm assuming the background voice is the "trainer") of a person calling himself a "trainer" because they did a helper seminar somewhere along the line and bought a Ray Allen sleeve.
