My question has two parts

1) Can the tracking leash in Schutzhund trial be more than 33 feet or 10 metres? say about 40 feet or 13 metres? Or will I be points deducted by the judge for having extra long leash?

2) If the answer to the first  question is No can I tie knots as markers on my leash and make it 33 feet. Will it allowed then??

Thanks for your replies

cheers

Hi Vikram:  From my UScA rule book (page 18):

TRACKING LINE

"The tracking line must be at least 10 meters long (32 feet 9 1/2 inches).  The handler must remain at the end of the tracking line even in the event the tracking line is longer than 10 meters."

So you can have knots or not have knots, but either  way, you have to  hold the line at the very end,  and the line has to be at least 10 meters long.
