Unfortunately DURING PREGNANCY your vet is RIGHT.   (not that he knows why probably)

Let me first remark MY vet feeds her dogs RAW.

But, during pregnancy you MUST have them on a good quality kibble because the pups NEED the correct calcium phosphorous ratios 1:1
Dam needs to have enough of an exact diet to have enough natural oxytocin for delivery.

I have fed raw and ignored it and lost 6 pups due to raw feeding during pregnancy over the two females which were exclusively fed raw.   I was devastated because i so very much believe in raw feeding.

So now i feed kibble during pregnancy WITH PREVENTION PLUS by Joshua Kennels and IMMEDIATELY SWITCH the dams over once whelped to true pure raw green tripe, raw chicken, horse meat etc and a performance mix for their recovery.   I can't take that chance again.

The pups too  are raised on the same mix as their dams starting at 3 weeks and the results are amazing.  But with pregnant females, never again...

( I do give the dams a mid day 'snack' of raw )

Best of luck with your dogs' pregnancy and delivery!
