I am wondering if anyone has used either of these products...or both of them...the Dogtra2300 and the tri tronics pro 100?

Before you start posting, PLEASE dont come on here saying e collars are bad, or some crazy stuff like that.

Are we allowed to say that you probably don't have enough experience as a trainer to use one of these correctly?

There are numerous experienced trainers commenting on and comparing both brands on the workingdogforum.  I don't recall model # specifics.  Not my thing, so I can't comment, but most there seem to agree that you can't go too wrong with either brand.

you can say whatever you like, however i didnt ask your opinion on if you think I am experienced or not. Dont worry about that part, I have that covered.

moose .. i don't know keith  never met the person .. i don't take his post as critism .. he has a really truely valid commentary .. maybe he didn't enunciated well ... first - and a gain just feedback .. i would contmplate :i get a feeling  if one  neeeds  to even ask which brand is better .. then one  in essence is  not as experienced as one  might percieve himself as he thinks ... and i mean that constructively not desstructively [ unless of course you are a shill trying to promote someone's product through use of a condfederate on this site , a second in cahoots poster to answer your question ].  as a professional , not a person that trained and hung a sign proclaiming dog tainer .. i will tell you with certainty , i have seen the many very very well versed high end canine trainers/handlers  make mistakes using the e-collars. the very very experienced at that !!!. so when i hear you 'have that covered' , i think the exact opposite , ok , what mistake[s]  will this  one make ..

a yarn : [ for the record i have been trained , examined, tested in ability to use the e-collar - so listen good ].. : i had a friend whose dog didn't out .. a very high end national competitor. he thought he would use the e-collar to out the dog .. ok ..i turned to another mutual freind and said .. " the dog is going to outsmart the handler" !! he isn't that savy to use this e-collar" -  mistake #1 ..in short  the dog figured out that during competition there was no control in the abscence of the collar , mistake #2 .. now he changed the collar postion from the dog to a wired arm sleeeve , i laughed- very hardily at that .. so  ... what happened ? , the dog again was one step ahead :  the dog learned that the stimulation came from biting the sleeve , which was wired .. SO what did the dog figure out and problem solve ??? ,     the answer ... upon coming off the live sleeve the dog figured out the leg was a viable target !! HOLY MOLLY - OUCH .. no leg pad present.  **,@ ^^%** mother  **** !!! the sight of the blood . phuey wee !! PAIN !!! i stated to our mutual friend  about that owner : DID i Make MY POINT ?? . mistake 3 .. tried to use the ecollar on another dog .. what happened .. the dog anticipated the correction seconds ahead , always ..  and always camed off the bite, i.e. 'outed' before the command [ in order to avoid the aversive] . So a bigger problem : How was he going to keep the dog on the bite and prevent him from coming off ?? *** ---------- now you may not be doing bite work BUT the lesson is universal .. : if one is to use the e-collar you better make dam sure you know what you are doing , you better have an in depth /understanding of  the mind of a canine !!  for THAT is and WILL BE YOUR LAST RECOURSE  TRAINING .. you screw up .. you have no other technique to fall back to .. SO .. I cringe when i hear the words " got that covered " [ same way i hear the stupid phrase , no problem , i know there is a problem for sure with that satement]. MY Best to you & with concearn ,  GOOD LUCK ..hope this shared yarn helps you in usage if you do >>>  and BTW .. I lean towards TRI-TRONICS [ or DOGTRA ] BOTH are very good products ] and they offer a number of units with features to suit purposes .

I would perhaps "try" it under the guidance of a very accomplished trainer, and with a dog I didn't care got ruined.  Seems like I can always pick out a dog that was etrained, even when the collar's gone.  Sorry, I know you don't want to hear those views, but just so you don't think I was being encourageable in my previous post.

"you can say whatever you like, however i didnt ask your opinion on if you think I am experienced or not. Dont worry about that part, I have that covered."

Alphapup clearly has a lot more patience than I do...

I'm not sure why you bother coming here pretending to seek advice if the only advice you really want agrees with what you already think is true but if all you really want is opinions on these two collars, I'm sure there are plenty of reviews on them available elsewhere if you look.

Three days ago you were on here asking for advice on a two year old male that was showing you handler agression...not a question I would expect from someone who has the experience part "covered".  That notwithstanding, if you're looking at an e-collar as the solution to this issue, you might be very surprised at how this works out for you once you really piss the dog off by shocking him.  Good luck!

The best E C i know of is the one sold by Bart Bellon the Martin Micro collar with a finger kick weighs around 42 grams.
Keith was being kind not the way you took his post, If you need to ask which is the better product then you have not used or tested any or many E Collars i think that was Keiths point
As said get someone in the know of this product because you can easily ruin a dog big time rather than help it, If you are not proficient in its use yourself
