This boy needs a forever home. Let's quit arguing and find him the perfect situation for the rest of his life.
$350. is NOTHING for a dog like this. I am frankly surprised it isn't $1000., if nothing more than to help offset the expenses of helping other, less-fortunately dogs than he. So he's neutered? So what? He IS what he's going to be. Neutering makes no difference at this point unless somebody would only take him to breed, which probably wouldn't be the best home for him anyway.

Yes, Molly. You are right, of course, as usual. I read it on the internet. In fact, everything I've ever learned, I learned on the internet. I never had a dog before but I think I might get one someday. Maybe a Chihuahua. You sell a lot of those out of your kitchen, don't you? Maybe if I learn all you have to teach me, I could get a discount?

I have yet to meet someone pro-castration who either didn't have an agenda (and not all agendas are of ill will; some are well-meaning) or just really, really, needed to get laid.

Hi Newbie <LOL>
sorry , I just scanned for questions to answer so I guess I didn't get that right :-)
we will always take donations if anyone wants to help , but his adoption fee will be the same as the rest of  our dogs . We considered asking more but like I said our objective is to get him the right home . Don't forget about Nixi too if anyone is looking for a younger schutzhund prospect .

For the normal people who might read this, Molly is as good at twisting people's words as she is at impersonating a caring breeder, so what I really said is that there are many reasons working homes would not want a castrated dog (and let's call it what it is- no nice little terms like  "fixed"). I personally know of more than one dog who worked (not SchH, I said "work") phenomenally until surgery, then was never the same afterwards as it pertained to scentwork (note, I did not say SchH tracking). There are also physical ramifications that only get worse with time.

This thread was not to argue about the atrocities of neutering; this was about WHY a dog is in a shelter and I simply remarked that I don't envy him due to his unique situation and cited reasons I personally have heard of or dealt with in scenarios like this.

I am finished here; I think I'm going to go spend some time with my betesticled (great word, right? Like bespectacled...love it) animals...the whole rotten lot of them, equine and canine. Have a great day, everyone.

I do not send cash donations to rescues anymore after some were caught being fraudulent with the money. I do however donate art for auctions to raise rescues money and also do free graphic artwork and logos for rescues that can prove they are a bona fide rescue. I also help transport rescue dogs, have fostered, and retrained rescued dogs for adoption.

Just to ease the mind of Jenni , I would never qualify as a neuter nazi . We as a state licensed rescue have to spay/neuter everything we place because of the state law that everyone stood by and let happen because they thought it wouldn't matter if it was just a requirement for rescues. I have 2 intact males myself and just recently spayed my female who is 8 and was never bred. I have always shown in Conformation and you can't show altered dogs .

Same, I finally spayed my female but she was never bred and never going to be bred and I am a responsible dog owner that knows how to separate and contain dogs.

I have had gsds for last 8 years have NEVER bred a litter of gsds and have in tact dogs and NO agression issues either in them.

I hate the tag/ ins/ park/ city efforts to make people alter their dogs.

Yes I said park, the new one is you cannot take your dog to some federal parks to enjoy them if they are not altered!

we also take in kind donations which is what you are talking about, and if you help with transport let me know were you are and  your contact info and I will ad you to my roll a dex . We sponser a rescue forum called GSDwest and so we try to help dogs to other rescues when we can't take them so we are always collecting transport help info and often people contact me for such info . We used to bring a lot of dogs in from the east but now we sort of limit our reach from Ks to California.

I am east coast, if this helps I will gladly transport rescue dogs. If you have any fund raisers and wish something to auction off for it I make many gsd themed items or non gsd as well as jewelry, for some expamles feel free to contact me when you have a function, donated of course.
