So what did happen with the Mal on the USA team?

by Duderino on 12 September 2011 - 04:09

First thought says control problem, maybe no out.

by SKI on 12 September 2011 - 11:09

3 call outs from the 6the blind and did not come out.

Ya that mean ole USCA, there so down on any other breed, I,m so glad the WDA and GSDCA offer a Working Dog Championship open to all breeds!... No wait they don,t do they... USCA does.

Congratulations to all the competitors of the FCI. You have achieved so much and worked so hard just to get to that level of competition. It,s a shame the competitors have to put up with armchair quarterbacks. I know I for one am very proud to have a club member in the competition there and will use there achievemnts to set my goals accordingly.

You're so full of crap, where in this thread did anyone pick on any one individual or any one dog?  It was good natured ribbing just as in "my team's better than your team".  Stop trying to make it into something that it's not.

You're wasting your time trying to defend UScA, their decisions are more about serving the few and politics than they are about making "their" breed better.

 Come on Phil, lighten up.

Just to be fair I think you were the one taking pot shots at a breed and a orginization and I just stated a fact... Sorry your knickers got in a bunch.

Can I help you with that wedgie?.

by Duderino on 13 September 2011 - 02:09

Yep, I will always take shots at UScA and it's current hierarchy.  As far as taking shots at the breed, maybe you should take the blinders off and view the videos from recent years Sieger Shows on both continents and tell me that's the way a working breed should perform.  You're not even honest with yourself.

Again, no one was picked on as an individual as you stated and since this is my thread, I get to make the rules and if you don't like them, go back to the GSD Board where you can pat each other on the back and tell each other how great you are.

There has always been and always will be a huge gap in the working performance between the working and show lines.  Each line has their purpose.  This has always been the case.  This is not a recent development within the breed.  This argument is as old as the breed itself.

German shepherds have always been and always will be the second best at everything.   That is the whole point of owning a German shepherd dog.  All of you who think the Malinois is THE all around dog just take your Malinois for a simple jog around the block and you’ll discover real quickly they do have their own limitations.  They are strictly a working dog and that is it.  They blow at everything else as all other breeds do.

by Duderino on 13 September 2011 - 05:09

That's where you're wrong.  Have you ever read Capt. Max's standard for the German Shepherd Dog?  Show me where it says there are 2 different standards and 2 different German Shepherd Dogs?

I ain’t wrong about shit.  Max was in search of the ultimate dog just like the rest of us are.  The GSD is so versatile that if you concentrate solely on working ability, guess what, you’ll find all you can handle somewhere in the breed.  Furthermore, if you concentrate on structure, you’ll find the most efficient use of energy no other breed compares.  Whatever your demands are in a dog you will find it throughout this breed.  This is all Max was trying to achieve and he did it.  Now let’s rejoice!
