WOW !!  I have been reading this post and others from the beginning and IMO I totally disagree how this poor dog is/has been treated.DEFECTS OR NOT i BELEIVE EVERY DOG,HUMAN ECT... SHOULD BE TREATED KINDLY AND COMPASSIONATELY !! I NEVER have written myself(my husband has)but I can't help myself now. Maybe I am out of line but I was under the impression that this was a place to go to help educate people about the breed and to help answer questions to those who are still green to the breed, NOT A BASHING RING !!!  I am very disappointed that this has continued to go on this long and pray that this dog finds a home that will love her(defects and ALL) and give her a long happy life.     JOYCE

Oh, it's both, really. LOL
But you're right, it's painful to hear a dog spoken of as THAT. Like so much garbage.

I agree. And about cow hocks. YES< they do get better with age! Maybe not PERFECT but certainly not crippling. Good grief, you should have seen my dog when I got him, falling pasterns from being in a cage, obvious cow-hocked. He's just one happy go lucky, running, jumping guy with no serious problems, certainly not perfect, but not a freak of dogdom.

Settle down folks, you are pet owners and that is fine, but this dog was sold as a BREEDING female, therefore we are commenting on whether she is breed worthy, and whether or not this breeder did the right thing.  A no brainer to me.

I have dial up and only saw enough video to know that 3000 regardless of what the breeder usually charges (does not matter) is waaaay to much for a dog of this quality, and she should NOT be bred, and the buyer has every right to be disappointed in her as a breeding female, as a 3000 dollar dog for that matter.  Like someone else mentioned, that is a LOT of money, if you work hard for your money like I do, and others do.

If you feel 3 grand isnt' a lot, and if you are worried about how she is treated, and are upset by the rest of us practical heartless folk,-  buy her for 3 grand.  End of story.

Sorry, but the dog is over a year old, and will not grow out of those cow hocks, I don't care what anyone says, and if you do not agree with me, refer to the sentence above this one.

I'm done here.  Adios.

Okay RS, I get that, but if it is all that fired important to buy a dog as a breeder, and they think nothing of spending 3k for a breeder, they should have gone to see the dog in person. Then they could have decided if the 3K price was worth it. Face it, there was no buyer/breeder relationship before the transaction, it was a click here, and a click there.

Opinions are subjective, and always will be. Go see what you are buying, first, how about that? Or don't complain when you get something you didn't expect.

by hexe on 22 September 2011 - 22:09

beetree, first off--OMG, you and I actually agreed on something!

Secondly, you clearly don't understand Iron Horse's situation: John Henkel *forced* this dog upon her, *made* her agree to him shipping Natalee to her, and *made* her go to the airport and pick up Natalee when she arrived.    She was powerless to resist, so how can you blame her for any of this?

"Your remarks about the dog  being pet quality should give pet buyers a pretty good idea of what they can expect if they purchase from  some of you professional s/l breeders."

sorry to have to burst your bubble, michael49, you'll need to include some of the 'professional w/l breeders' in your generalization as well.  Last time I checked, Kraftwerk doesn't breed anything with show lines, but their animals are sold at similar prices to what Wilhendorf gets...and you've been around here long enough to know how often *that* kennel name (Kraftwerk) shows up in a new thread title about a sickly or poor-quality dog the person posting was sold at a cost of thousands of dollars...

by crhuerta on 22 September 2011 - 23:09

I have a question?....*If the Kennel normally sells their breeding quality dogs for a much higher price than the $3000 initially paid for this young female....what was the original "agreement" of purchase with the *discounted price*?....

Many are screaming that $3000 is a huge amount of money to spend on a "companion quality" dog....but in all reality...that IS what some of the larger kennels charge for them.
BTW....MANY of us work everyday jobs....so yes, $3000 is alot of money to many & most.
The reality of this situation is not that the buyer paid TOO MUCH for this young female...it is "what did she pay for?".......and that is actually between the buyer & seller. IMO.

I'm sorry, but I never saw anywhere that said the price of this girl was 3 grand. And am not about to start at the beginning of this thread to find out. Can anyone say what the price was for sure???
