I found the same thing. That was after I already had a pretty strong feeling that what we had here was a disappointed livestock breeder/broker, based on the original post. I wasn't the least bit surprised to find the listings for all the puppies of different breeds for sale, judging by the complete lack of compassion for Natalee.

Maybe someone who knows John should contact him with this information? He may want to try to get Natalee back and place her where she will be appreciated.

It seems your instincts were right, Jenni. Good of you to offer to find another home for this puppy.

She is very cow hocked, her rear movement is not correct and while it may improve with proper conditioning and as she develops...she will always be on the extreme side of being cow hocked.  She is indeed heavy, needs to be brushed out and needs to be placed in a loving companion home with someone that loves her!!!  She looks very sweet, the fact that she does not live up to your expectations or is in your oppinion "inferior" quality nor the fact that John sold you this dog as a breeding prospect does not make it her fault...she didn't ask for any of this.  The video breaks my heart....you dragging her around on that short lead, her stumbling and you just dragging her around again.  Its very upsetting.  Dogs are NOT and should NEVER be a buisness, when you look at it as such the dogs suffer.....when you buy from somebody who looks at breeding as a buisness, you may get a companion quality animal at a show quality price!  I breed and have bred/shown showline GSDs for 13 years, I have never seen a dog as cow hocked as poor Natalee anywhere; not at an SV show, not at an AKC show, not with any puppies I or friends have produced....cow hocks do happen but when they are to that extreme then the dog should be placed in a loving companion home and not used for breeding.  On a personal note: to take a dog off a plane, let her out for 10mins and put her back in the crate overnight is a SHAME!  Dogs should be part of your family, have time in the house, not kennel animals used for making puppies!!!

John Henkel needs to take this dog back period.

I would have erupted a volcano if I had received that in my kennel when I ordered ZU many years ago.

NO one with any kind of CONSCIOUS integrity would sell a dog knowing this dog looked like that..It was like that when shipped.

NO dog just turns that way from a flight on an airline and spending two nights in a kennel. NO one said that, but there should be no discussion . IT is a given.

John Henkel's name is a carry of what His DAD built.. I remember the wonderful articles in the USA Schut. magazine when I was green in this sport. It was a great tribute to him when he died.

I know he would want this handled and would hope his son will take this Natalie back and find a solution.

I do not think putting it in a pet home is the answer either unless someone with unfounding pockets of money want to be its keeper.

I didn't send on through the post I typed last night.  When RS said she felt sorry for the OP, I just about muttered every expletive I knew.  If I remember correctly, it began with "Feel sorry for him......not in a million years".  From there it spiraled on a downward curve with such enormity, I had to hit 'clear'.

Can you imagine after a long flight in that stupid crate she finds herself in a new, strange home and your big welcome is a stupid 10 min outing?  Then, put back in the stupid crate and abandoned in a dark, lonely barn (pardon me,  f-a-c-i-l-t-y) all night.  Next, we get to view the video.  Up and down, and down and up....over and over and over again.  She's miserable and it couldn't be more blatantly obvious that both the walker and camera holder are totally oblivious and insensitive to that fact.  Sigh.  Where do these people come from?

Yes.....she's cow hocked.  It's debatable what you could critically judge JH more for-----sending her without prior knowledge to the buyer (IF, that's the case), OR sending her to THIS particular buyer at all. Anyway, the only thing I personally give 2 sh-ts about is her current status.  What happened to the OP?  Natalee is not garbage.....I better stop now.

BTW.....How ya doing, Blitzen?

She was entered in NASS either by John or her co-owner. She was pulled but entered. Perhaps he really does not feel this is an issue as if he did, why in the hell was she entered in a show like NASS?? or did he not see her since she was a puppy and they met at the show? Just some things to think about before blasting him.  The fact that the poor dog went to this person is another problem, but who knows what she told him and she has a prior one from him.

The dog needs to get out of there, that is all I can think of.

As an aside to Donnerstorm, those weren't 'thumb up the nose' questions--they were good, valid questions, and I'll bet you weren't the only one who had 'em...you were just the one who asked them 'out loud', as it were.

1Dog1, she was also shown under an SV judge in the 6-9 month old class last fall, and was given a VP4 rating...

Poor, poor Natalee.

It seems like all the humans in this poor dogs's life are horrible, greedy (expletive deleted).

What's the problem with the "facility".  Doesn't this "facility" have kennels with indoor/outdoor runs or is it a disgusting warehouse filled with crates like some of the puppy mills/factories?  Not very professional or humane.

Poor Natalee, such a sweet pretty face and all she can feel from the other end of the leash is disappointment and hate.  She didn't do anything to deserve any of that.

I hope they will let Jenni take her, make her a happy girl and sell her to an owner who will love her and be proud of her beauty and sweetness.  She needs a lot of swimming and walking on the beach.

I have seen alot of American Showlines like this and they think nothing of it. My dogs both show and working lines over the years and a few Am showlines back many many years never were that sloppy but it's been a long time that I have been at shows. I am glad I am not close by. I'd be tempted to offer her something for her to try to condition her to see how she turns out, but on the other hand, I have some concern for my dogs here due to how many different breeds and how much she breeds and what I could bring in. Jenni you have new pups, think about that before you do anything. Yikes I suppose there are many dogs in situations like this and you can't take them all. I hope John reads this and buys her back. Yes I remember the USA articles too whoever posted that.
