When people say d"ogs great with people and kids and cats" usually this means they are ok with "thier people, kids and cats" His cats might stand thier ground and NOT run, while your cat WILL run thus puting the dog in to prey drive. Same goes with kids - his kids are raised with them and know not to poke the dogs eyes and grab him while some kids have no up bring around dogs and will poke and grab and hit the dog. So many people do not send enough time researching thier new pet/working dog. Yep looks good can do bite work/titled, and has a great pedigree - we'll buy it what about going and spending time working the dog, seeing how it does with your children, temperament outside of the kennel like a park and so fourth. Hell if I have 2.5K to spend on a puppy I should have enough money to go spend a day/night with the dog.

EK, when Wayne Curry's dog attacked my cat, my cat was walking slowly from the kitchen to my living room. It happened right in front of me.

Diana Was using it as an example. I am sorry that you had to lose a cat/family member over it. again I hear so many people say puppies are such risk I personally would rather take my chances with genetics (hips) and training then taking an adult and put my kids at risk AGAIN let it be two or four legged. PS I have in the past bought older dogs and had my last one put down due to I could not have him around children this was not the first dog either. I know it sounds hash but I never would want a child hurt over a dog let it be mine or someone elses (people say put him in a home without children... due to every where you look there are children I would not want that on my shoulders)

Back in May Diana was upset because she felt she was beat up and people didn't take her side. Most of those folks will respond only once and won't bother when people want to "warn the public" more than once. I have not seen Wayne Curry in a few years, but I always thought he was an upfront sort of guy. He has a kennel that deals in very competitive working lines. Now I'm not the smartest guy in the world, but I don't care what anyone told me about introducing a new dog into my family, it wouldn't be without a great deal of control on my part. Additionally, how many of you working dog kennels would have given this guarentee? I belive not too many. Judge Judy says, "it must pass the smell test. If it doesn't make sense it's probably not true."

Hindsight is a great tool.

It sure is, but foresight is even better.

Thats true too...but somethings are hard to see.Alot of smoke and mirrors block it.

Have you seen the sight? It's pretty straight forward as to what it is. If you don't know the difference between a working dog, a show dog or a mutt bred in someones basement you probably need to avoid purchasing the animal. The individual was asked why she was in the market for this type of GSD. What was her answer? She made a mistake. I doubt that she really knew what a working dog of this caliber was all about. Whose fault is that? There are three sides to every story and when told from the perspective of a person that believes they are the agreived...you may not be getting the complete and clear story.

Too many excuses. This lady might have been naive to contact Kraftwork in the first place, trust Curry to tell the truth about dogs he is selling, and paying lots of money for a dog - but bottom line, she was looking for a good-quality adult dog and was willing to spend some money on it. Found the dog and trusted the seller to tell the truth when asked up-front "is the dog good with cats, I have a cat". The answer she received was "Yes he is good with cats" and so the sale went through. Dog killed her cat when it was just walking around it's own home. Mistake, learning the hard way about dogs/cats, trusting sellers, and losing a lot of money? Yep. But, should the seller have taken her money, told her lies and then refused to refund her money? Nope. There were mistakes made on both sides, but it certainly wasn't the fault of the lady who naively trusted, or the poor cat who lost it's life while walking in it's own home where it should have been safe, or the dog who was rehomed (again) because of it. molly

I'm not going to get into all the details but I bought a couple of pups from Kraftwerk. As I said hind sight is a great tool.
