Let's just give it our best shot and see how it works out. Every other breed forum I've ever posted to or read, other than your standard Yahoogroup, has a lot more sub-forums than this one.

I am repeating myself (again). If some of the OP's could be more specific in naming their thread topic, that would go a long way toward being able to quickly surf through here looking for posts of interest. I am a lot more apt to read a thread called - evaluation of a hip xray - than I would be - what do you guys think of this.  Happens all the time.

Does the search function allow you to search each forum at once?  Or must you go to each forum and perform a new search?

This is just an observation but:

Why change the forum then ask for opinions? Why even ask, unless you ask first. It certainly appears that opinions don't count.

Another observation:

In the past when the number of website hits were mentioned, the answer was always something to the effect of Oli doesn't care about that. Now all of a sudden the words stagnant, and we must change start to appear. Also all of the posts on the "off topic" side that are started by the mods are the type of posts that go on & on & on, so it certainly appears that website hits are a driving factor,

So if the admin truly wants the members thoughts and ideas why not LEVEL with us about what & why are the driving factors.

It's tough trying to help solve a problem if you're not presented all the facts.

This thread started out about Show Line people being personally attacked. So why not just address personal attacks? But little by little more factors keep slipping out.

Plain and simple just tell us the truth, or don't bother asking IMO.

My original statement.

"We have decided to give show line and working line people their own forums. If this does not work out we will combine these forums back into the GSD forum.

Please use those forums accordingly and use the GSD forum as more of a general GSD forum."

Please show me how I am not announcing this and that I am asking for opinions? I don't see it. Have I tried to explain? Why yes I have but the original intent was to announce and not to solicit opinions, but we left the thread open because the personal attack thread became a big issue with a few. Because they could not intimidate those who responded. That is all it was those members could not intimidate into silence the members who wanted no personal attacks. Plain and simple, all those people could have PMd any mod but they choose not to. WHY?

No matter whether it is an announcement or something asking for opinions the back seat mods will question what we do because they can.

The reason the mods started threads is because they get want to post with the members, after all they are members. I am trying to get Oli to post the numbers because all this talk of the PDB having nobody here is a bunch of bull. Hell I get PMs from people who visit another site and those PMs say how we are signing up new users and posting stuff to get more responses, but when I look at those members they have been here since 2007. Hardly new members.

The mods want to comment in all forums and this was our experiment to see how it went, but to say this site needs clicks is absurd and to say mods are signing up new names to comment is delusional.

So, again show me how I asked for opinions on this, it was an announcement that once again was twisted by a few members. Now you are trying to twist it and put words in my mouth. Go figure grasshopper.

There are at this moment 50 logged in and 350 guests. Hardly dead.

Do you guys ever get tired of answering the same questions over and over? Well it does not surprise me considering about 50% of the GSD folks post on the general forum. So, things get scattered and are harder to find. If we do a better job of categorizing and a better job of placing the threads in the right forum it would make finding specific information much easier. If I want info on training why should I have to sift through 10s of clean butt threads or cute picture threads? If I want info on showing why should I have to sort through 100's of  work/sport threads?

I could not agree more with this.

And 2 people posting out of 400

Way more than 2.

I count 4 in the last 1/2 hour just on this thread.

It is sad some people are lurking all over their lack of being able to personally attack members. Sad.

That must be it.

You are probably right, it must be that we opened up a few new forums.

From the day I announced no personal attacks our numbers have only increased, even when you take out all the working people who seem to be upset about no PA and have gone into lurk mode. Strange it only affected certain people and the majority were sport/work folks. WHY?
