I think those who believe their GSD is the correct and true one are holding on to  the German Shepherd forum, So far it looks like none of the work line side members are going the the Work lines forum, some show folks are already posting in the Show Lines forum, Imagine the Administration after a month see the Working line Forum is not working, they delete it and we wind up with:
General forum
German Shepherd &
Show Lines

Wouldn't that look like the Show line is just like a different breed and the German Shepherd forum, where work line people meet and talk is theirs and still carries the German Shepherd forum and maybe a show line folk trying to post there will be just someone asking for trouble !!! Come on we are lovers of the same breed, the GSD.
Interesting to watch and see final results

Just by the way some are talking on here, (the SL folk) it sounds like they are of the mind that now the WL folk, are no longer allowed in that forum to comment on the SL threads.   Are we so thin skinned that we can't take an alternate point of view on the GSD?

Is it one breed or not? Sounds like two from the SL folk, so you are probably right Ibrahim, there will be basically 3 dog forums.

I'm not in favor of seperating them. People should be allowed to say what they want. They are all GSD

If a thread is about Showlines and you don't like them why even go there?

If this trend keeps up eventually we will have a white GSD forum because someone was picked on, then it will be a Longcoat forum and on & on.

The people who are unreasonably mean should be warned, punished and eventually banned IMO.

The banning of certain words is not necessary if you simply punish the offenders, why should everyone else have to worry if they used the words you, you're, yourself etc.?

People need to be held accountable for their actions. The rest of the posters shouldn't suffer as a result of a few people.

First, those words are not banned. Those are just a hint that it is being taken personal. I have always said the attack that precedes or follows those words is what counts.  Second, the show line people are asking for this. Third, we have a white german shepherd forum. Finally, we may decide to move threads to the appropriate forums. In any event we would only have 3 forums as the all breeds would be used for all breeds and not dominated by german shepherd people.

Ahhh don't get rid of the OT section please, I have it in all my PC favorites. '+' Seriously, I like the new forum additions. Is there going to be a dating forum anytime soon ? HaHa

Red Sable - From what I've seen, it's not thin skinned at all. It's simply the ratio is very uneven. When the SL people want an opinion it's near impossible to get more than one opinion of an SL dog/pedigree. The WL people have the insatiable need to place their input somewhere in an SL thread when it wasn't asked for. SL people see the alternative point of view on nearly every thread posting a WL dog (or if you'd like I can pull an old thread with a WL person bashing SL's). And no one ever said the WL people can't go into the SL forum..
As the admins have stated, it's a test trial for a month. Personally, I'd love for the SL forum to stick around.

I disagree sid with the showline taking heat from the working line. I think it's the opposite. Take the E-Collar debate fore example, it's not the workingline calling it cruel, inhumane or afraid to use it. That's another reason I like this database, I've never read another forum where the opinions and commentary were not deleted because of being pro E-Collar and educating use on a public forum. Well, except Leerburg but I don't go there much after I bought the videos and lost on a couple auctions. LOL

I'm afraid I was away during an E collar debate. I don't find a problem with E collars, they're there for a reason. But with most WL people, their thoughts are in sync. I won't mention who (unless the individual pops on here asking if it was them, then yes, I will say it was), however, I did call a WL individual over a litter they had recently. I mentioned I had showlines and quite literally was shut down. It was, "Oh, I'm sorry, you wouldn't be able to handle "insert dams name here"'s puppies. Thank you for your interest though!". Uhm, what?! Not like I wasn't raised around police WL dogs or have had to train WL GSDs/Malinois/Dutch Shepherds/Bouviers out of their aggressive tendencies. No. It was quite offensive, and I've seen this demeanor all over the PDB. SL people just don't have the opportunity to talk amongst one another because WL people do carry the tendancy to look down on us and have to place their thoughts in such a thread.

SIGH...I am not the brightest crayon in the box, but even I know that the moderators NEVER meant that the words, you, your, or whatever were banned. It is the nastiness and the personal attacks that are not being tolerated...

And no SL person ever said that WL people could not post on the SL forum. It is just childish to even assume such a thing IMO. There are different venues to enjoy GSD and now we have Forums to reflect those venues. I intend to enjoy both forums ....

     German Shepherd is a noun(thing)
Working GSD and Show GSD are adjectives(describes)

"To be honest, I think it's brilliant. There is an overwhelming amount of WL people on here. And as much as WL people state they are intrigued by SL topics, they do not seem so intrigued as to want to learn about the SL's. SL topics generally get over run by WL people posting their own version of what a GSD should be when the person had simply asked for a comment on an SL dog. I think that though this does seem to separate them a bit, in the long run the SL people will be more enthused to get feedback about SL dogs from SL people without the intervention of a WL person stating it isn't their taste and posting what is their taste. The GSD forum is still there, so if SL people want an all out opinion, they can still go on there and ask and browse the board for WL topics. But, when they want to be directed toward a particular opinion, they have that option as well."

I've underlined it for you Ruger,  if you read, he is implying there will be no 'intervention' by WL folk.  Pretty plain to see for me.

Not that it is going to stop anyone, more like just wishful thinking.
