Well let the fists fly and the bottles swing..... pass the popcorn please
I have long wondered what is it that gives people the courage or the insolence to be so free with insults on their keyboard when hardly any of them would dare do the same in person.....
Even the most mean-spirited, tail-between-its-legs, fear-biting canine would show greater willingness to confront its antagonists
I do not envy the poor moderators who try to hold the banners of civility and order on this lawless outpost of cyberspace .....and I can with confidence say that I would personally judge several posters on this forum as meriting one or more psychotropic medications to ensure their ability to cling to the fabric of society..... but let such declarations be covered by the safe shroud of HIPPAA
I do know that you are probably likely to get 4 times as much posts in the Conformation forum as the Sport forum..... 1) for the simple reason that the task of running a dog in anti-clockwise circles usually leaves people significantly more time for their keyboards than training in any of the working or sport disciplines... AND 2) for the reason that most working folk justly beleive that training is done by doing and not by talking...
So Ladies and Gentlemen and all species in-between.... let us for at least a short while... pretend that we can manifest the nobility, stability, courage, intelligence, compassion and valor of the species that we claim to champion.....

WTH? I haven't seen anybody flying off the handle or being overly rude. I though Ninja's post was a pat on the back to the mods and agreed! I've seen more snarky comments and shit being slung by SL people in this case and I don't get the last posts by the mods.????? Maybe something else went on that I didn't read?

Blitzen, I moderated on a nursing forum for a number of years. It always amazed me that so-called professionals could be so mean, childish and petty to one another, and to the mods.
I had to grow a hide like a rhinocerous to deal with the personal insults.
One poster actually found out a mod's real life ID and stalked her. I believe she was arrested by police. The same poster also hacked a mod's ID and gained access to the moderator's forum. Pretty scary stuff!
We also had some other scary dramas, like a poster threatening suicide. The board owner, who could have tracked down where the poster lived was not available. As a result of that scare, which turned out to be someone just seeking attention, he appointed an administrator who had all of the same powers he did (except, of course, for doing technical changes to the board.)
Oh, the stories I could tell....

I feel the board is much improved with moderation. and I have been called to task a few times (and should have been).
The training section was a great idea and lots of information and ideas shared there. I'm also liking the new conformation forum.

Sunsilver, that's exactly my point. I don't hear any complaining from anyone who has been there and done that.
If this board weren't moderated by people with some sense eventually unbridled "feedom of expression" would lead us straight back to the days of racial bashings and ugly American photos some of which were actually forwarded to the Dept of Homeland Security due to their terroristic content (no, not by me). That drove some of us away years ago and most of the most knowledgable people who left have never returned to the best of my knowledge.

I hate all of you. I want my own forum where I am the only member and can answer my own questions. And if I get into an argument, I don't want the mods around. I'm a big boy and can handle it myself.
