Multiple Usernames - Page 1

Hello members,

Due to the fact that we have so many members signing up and posting with multiple user names, we have to begin addressing this issue. If you are one of the members who have signed up more than one user name please send a PM to a moderator to let us know which name you would like to continue using. Anyone who doesn't take the initiative to let us know which name they would like to keep is at risk of having their name banned.

What about multiple users in one household with only one PC? Not everyone has the luxury to have a PC in every room in their house. Just curious!

Different members in the same household is not the issue we are trying to address.

We have many members signed up with 5 or more user names per household.

We also have cases where people will make a new user name and use it to reply to their own threads. (usually when they feel they do not have support from members)

There are people who sign up with multiple usernames only to create ads. We are afraid these situations could lead to fraud.

Sure there are times when there are two members in the same household. But 3,4, and 5 (or more) is highly doubtful. We have a thread in the mod forum where we keep up with all the multiple usernames. It is 21 pages long! Unlikely that too many of these are same household members.

All we are asking is that some people come forward and be truthful. We are seeing alot of members posting and replying with different names. This isnt fair to other members.

Thank YOU!! I have suspected many new names were created for the NASS posts and others as of late.

My wife has a user name probably 4 yrs old.

Maybe a total of 2 or 3 posts.

Last post probably over 2 yrs old.

Is this worth PMing Admin over?

Or are you more or less interested in recent posting from the same household?

Good question Ninja. We are focused on the more recent use of mulitple names. Although your wife having her own username is ok. 

Different members in the same household is fine.

I thought it had already been determined that individuals using multiple names would be banned?

We do give people chances to stop the persistent use of multiple names.

Does this go for mods as well?  Obviously, many mods post under other user names.
