And let us look closely at the shoulder

by Ibrahim on 16 June 2012 - 18:06

And corresponding reach

by Ibrahim on 16 June 2012 - 18:06

Now we see that the shoulder blade length has become more than the front upper arm. The sum of bone lengths is 33.6 cms with a decrease of 2.4 cms or 6.7% from that in the ideal shoulder. The sum of shoulder angles is 108 degrees. The front reach decreased 1.88 cms or
4.35%.
One important note as the shoulder blade angle increases its length also increases (front upper arm angle remaining the same at 53 degrees) and ratio to front upper arm length decreases and so on till the shoulder blade length becomes more than the length of the front upper arm.

As the shoulder blade angle increases (the front upper arm angle remaininng adeal at 53 degrees) the front reach decreases. Or in other words the smaller the shoulder blade angle the better the front reach is.

Please do not worry much about the conclusions, when at the end I make tabulations, the conclusions will be easier and more clear.

Page 9, 3nd diagram the fore arm'leg dimension should be corrected to read 19.2687 cms, I will correct the drawing.

I am making drawings of many shoulder bones combinations and I need to ask a question:

Do you see GSDs whether show or work with shoulder blades longer than front upper arm? Anyone can answer to that.

Mr. Donald,

I managed to verify the angles in Mr. Fred Lantings photo with the Autocad

by Ibrahim on 19 June 2012 - 22:06

Dingo's case is similar to this one
