Sounds like the Missus was in complete denial of the dogs condition. Mister and Missus had no intentions of paying for euthanizing, for any reason. The cop helped bury the poor suffering creature, too .

Look at the Police Chiefs name:

Greenfield Chief of Police Timothy Hester .

Awful close to someone we all know and it's Ohio.

I double checked that one too, Ninja! Thought it said something else... I didn't have my wink on, at first! BabyEagle wouldn't give us bad facts, no way! laugh

This is my article and I would appreciate you just posting a snippet and a link to read the full article, and not post the article in it's entirety.  Attribution alone with a link is not good enough.

Thank you.

You mean you're the author of the article?

Well, as there are usually THREE sides to every story, I didn't want to sign up tp read the entire article, but I imagine somewhere in there is the truth. I have to question the police officers authority to PTS ANY animal, regardless of WHO gave permission. Just don't seem right to me.

Yes, I wrote this article.  After seeing the woman post on facebook that her dog was shot by police in Greenfield, I called Greenfield PD and spoke to the Chief myself to provide their side of the story.  I live about 20 min away and no one else had covered it yet.

And yes, it's customary to post a snippet from an article and then provide the link to read the rest; that constitutes fair use.  Posting the entire article is violation of copyright law.  There is no fee to read anything on Examiner, and you don't have to sign up for a thing.  Just click the link and you can read the entire article.

I'd appreciate it if this post could be amended to do that.  Thanks!

Ldyjarhead, unfortunately for me, I cannot edit my post. I do apologize to you, and I assure you my post is for educational purposes and to create critical thought.

Can't admin edit it?  I understand that you're trying to educate, but that can be done just as easily by a short blurb and the link.  Not only is it copyright infringement, it's taking money out of my pocket if people don't click through (and they don't need to, since you posted the entire article).

(Not trying to be nasty here, but I'm trying to educate too.  People don't realize that it's not ok to repost things).

I'm a dog lover and have owned several GSDs myself and they're my absolute favorite breed.  That's my best girl, Rosie, in my avatar.  Rose has gone over the Rainbow Bridge, but I still miss her every day.

I appreciate you trying to edit your post.  Thanks.
