Hey Bee...hows Beau?. :)

by beetree on 21 November 2012 - 15:11

LadyFrost,

You must have a sixth sense!  I just brought Beau to the vets this morning, to be chipped. He never stopped chewing the cookie they gave him during the injection. Did great with that big needle, I don't think he knew if they did anything at all. He weighed in at 44.5 lbs!  He just keeps on growing.  Maybe should have named him Big Foot?  He took the car ride fairly well, only a bit of whining. Tried to crawl into my lap, but I had to shove him back to the passenger seat, he's too darn big!

If Beau could, I think he'd spend all day outside, watching the world go 'round. We are getting ready to train him for the eFence. New flags and the rep is coming for a visit to set us up for the training. Supposedly there is new stuff to play with in the world of Invisible fences. I didn't talk to the guy myself. I'll deal with him when he gets here.

Beau's personality is charming. Except to Mojo, he is a royal brat. But Mojo plays head games on him to get back at him.

I went outside and took  new pictures and I will share, after I fiddle with the resizes. In between pies, LOL ....So, stay tuned... I think I took a few good shots... more Beau puppy pix, coming soon!

Thanks bee...it is a pleasure seeing Beau grow up and always a treat to read your updates... I truly enjoy it. :)

Thanks LadyFrost. Unfortunately, I think two of my biggest "fans" have had their welcome here, revoked. I certainly hoped it would be temporary, but how would any one know?

Here's a funny story.  We have separated the house in two zones with gates. The other day someone didn't close the gate properly, so when Beau jumped up on it to greet me in the morning, it magically opened for him.

So, a bit later after both dogs have breakfast, we do our morning walk and play session outside, then come inside. The dogs get their drink of water and often commence their ongoing rumble on each other, until Mojo decides he's had it with the brat. What he does then is just mean, he  hops over the gate to the other side leaving poor Beau to wonder, what happened?

Well, this time when Mojo jumped over, Beau ran at the gate, thinking it would open.... like it did the last time! Instead he bangs his head straight into the gate and it bounces him back out! The next thing I know he's tearing around the room, doing one of those crazy," running puppy jags", that's what I call it, any way.  He's besides himself, and I can see his snout curling from his snarly face as he slips and slides on the hardwood floor, all a mad dash of frustration.

So, of course, all this commotion demands Mojo's attention, so he hops back over the gate and returns to the scene of the crime to settle the crazy pup back down. LOL I'd never seen Beau so pissed off before... and the sounds he was making! Oh, I can see a reckoning on the horizon.... one of these fine days!

Here are a few recent pictures, I know the sitting ones are a bit blurry, but I think you can get the feeling of their 'bond" and the size of Beau in perspective with Mojo. I have more, but will get to resizing them a bit later... I think there is still time for those ears to go up. Steph showed me a picture of a sibling with their ears up, so  we shall see. It wouldn't matter at this point, just a preference because he'd look more obviously, GSD.

lol bee

Good lookin pup. And the mad dash around the room, my girl does that, especially when she knows she is in trouble. Then we play the "you can't catch me" around the the kitchin and coffee table in the living room. Eventually she makes a mistake, it's fairly entertaining, unless I'm pissed. haha

Glad to see you're enjoying the pup though.

Holly Molly....if this keeps up Mojo will soon look like undersized GSD next to Beau, he is definitely not underfed....LOL...and i do think his ears will pop up...they are almost there...

That is funny though...regarding the gate and puppy jags...had me laughing....wait till he is older, it will be like a cow on ice.....my 7 year old Dozer used to do those every day when he was a lot younger now when he gets into one of those "running moods" which happens once every 6 months or so...last time he did that he got tagged by 3 others which send him rolling over his head and he was limping for a few hours, makes you want to tell him "you are not as young as you used to be" ...

your supporters I am sure are reading this either way...and i am sure there are others who enjoy it too just dont want to admit to it..LOL

Very nice little "porker" you got there bee!
I too enjoy the stories and updates on him. It is always funny when some get left on the other side of the gait.they look like they are thhinkinking WTF.....

by beetree on 28 November 2012 - 16:11

Thanks  Wes, LF, fawn & kitkat... and all my silent fans, LOL

Here are some snow romping picts... I tried to get all different angles so you can see the little "porker's" development. He is a testament to raw feeding for pups, at the moment, isn't he? Thought I'd mention that since we seem to have a new thread about raw vs. kibble, with pups/dogs etc., every week or so.  I will say that Beau does eat some kibble, but not a lot.   I just figure it would be good for him to accept kibble should we run into some kind of supply issue sometime down the road,  at any given time. We prefer the Arcana for Beau, but he will steal sometimes, whatever Mojo has in his bowl, which is Blue Buffalo.

Some action shots, too! If I included a blurry pict, please realize I was trying to give a sense of form and I was unable to capture it any other way.

Teeth Smile...  Beau would stay outside all day I think, if he could. He is being trained with the Invisable fence right now... that is the red collar he is wearing. Once during a rumble,  he brought to me the unattached collar, to my surprise. I keep telling everybody how clever Mojo is! LOL
