Lol.....  Now that he is getting bigger with more structure, I am leaning towards some Rotti in there.  That wide chest and wide forhead, leans that direction.

Love the picture with his nose up to the sky in the snow.

I do thing rotti is an option...even ridge back...based on structure but color is way off for that....
hows hubby doing with new addition?.... mine was very much against Tank but now...it's his baby...my brother in law inquired if maybe there is a chance he can have him...that was such a wrong thing to say...it was like an insult....price went straight to 5 digit..LOOOL

LF, the whole family loves Beau. 100 percent. Hubby takes both dogs for a ride in the truck to hike the park trails. Your Tank is looking real good in your new avatar. Thumbs Up

Funny you mention ridgeback, I thought of that, too. Except I looked at some YouTube vids on ridgebacks, and the ridge starts in the middle and goes back. Beau just gets riled and hackled, on the attack  of Mojo, and it makes him look like a freakin' buffalo, LOL  like this:   .

All this talk about pups and weight, I thought I'd be a bit more fair to my "porker", I think he's a pretty darn healthy weight. I only feed him 2 times a day.  A hunter just gave my hubby four bags of venison! Slamdunc told me to freeze it first...to kill parasites. Didn't tell me for how long, though? You can see I am not a hunter, LOL

Any way, here are some shots from this morning in which I was trying to show some of his definition. His adult coat is coming in a bit darker, very steely. I just noticed a slight fringe appearing on his haunches, I think. He's also got quite a bit of loose skin to grow into! And I do think he's got such a round bottom and wide chest, not so typical of GSD's? I wish those DNA breed tests had better accuracy ratings... I am starting to wonder about doing one!

In this headshot... I think you can see his eyes are tawny gold on the outside, with just a small bit of blue still, on the inside.

Thanks to all who have commented nice words about my pup, even if I haven't named you, yet. I do appreciate it.

Thanks Bee.....we had just moved to a new and permanent house this weekend....i hurt in places i didn't know i had muscles in....and Tank is a PAIN in the A$$...we brought all dogs into a new back yard in 1 car and let them out at once.... he now thinks he owns the place where before he was a new comer...if he is in a kennel he raises hell and his objections are heard a block away....i am now in search of a remove shock collar....

now enough about me......LOL.........great photos Bee.....cant wait to see his teenage "clumsy" stage....i had a rotti puppy in my previous life (that was my 2nd dog and i was in high school)  he was a gorgeous munchkin until he hit 4-5 months and than he grew long, clumsy, skinny with big head and huge paws....around 11 months he started rounding up again and got a nice chest and a heavy bottom...and finally grew into his head....

He is so stocky! I can see where some of you guys are saying rottie... Bee, you should try the DNA test - even just to get an idea. We did a DNA test on our mutt and it when it came back the results were exactly what we had been told he was, and all we sent in was the swab - no other pictures or info (except his name). It might be worth a shot?

Whatever he is, he's super cute! Love the headshot.
