Kevin,
In my post I should have made clear that knowledgeable individual members of UScA have been very encouraging and have not held back in imparting their wisdom or their time to help me. The point I should have made was the conformation show aspect seems irrelevant to an overwhelming majority of UScA members and I am just airing out my contrary ideas as food for thought. The integrity of events seems to me to be the same as far as the conformation shows go but I do get a good sense of intolerance for cheating as far as trialing goes with UScA members, I am not around WDA clubs to give an opinion. The UScA judges program is an admirable project and probably will have a good future but the judges are not yet on par with German judges. There was nothing wrong with the judging at this year's WDA Siegershow, The WDA leadership was the problem when giving their awards but the SV judges placings were correct. There is a lot that UScA does very well and I believe they have the upper hand with some of their programs. I could easily see becoming a member of UScA if I have not pissed enough people off already, JA is the only thing holding me back. Now let me piss off the other half, I do not see why the SV would tolerate a group of people that refuse to breed survey their dogs to be in charge of those that do.

Here is one more little thing that is on topic and goes directly to the op's original question. I am going to play devil's advocate to Bobs question:" Why can't UScA be both a schutzhund organization and a  breed organization?" My answer would be how can an organization made up of Doberman, Pitt bull, Rottweiler, Dutch Shepherds, Schnauzer, Presa, Cane Corso, Bull dog, Boxer, Boerbel, Malinois and all the other breeds that are members of the UScA be an authority for the German Shepherd Dog? How many UScA board members are there who will not breed survey their dogs and do not agree with the SV's breed standards? How does this differ from the GSDCA's remote handling of the WDA?

Markobytes asked "How many UScA board members are there who will not breed survey their dogs...."          To my knowledge, none.

I met one a couple years ago that had no interest in breed surveying, don't remember his name, don't know if he was a breeder which makes a big difference. Again just playing devil's advocate, asking questions no one else is asking but are very relevant.

Fair enough.

Kevin,
I respect you a lot and value your opinion,I'm going to stop posting tonight, I had wished that my posts might have been constructive, but they may be having the opposite effect .

I was at a GSDCA club show last month and had a blast. Everyone was very welcoming and my Euro dogs didn't always come in last. Some members show interest in tracking and obedience. The judge actually volunteered to learn the FCI standard. She said she would be happy to add Euro classes to the club shows and club matches........Just FYI.
