I'm in Detroit.  If a home is found and you need help with transport, PM me.

Diane I can give a rats ass about any excuses the breeder has.  This thread isn't about the breeder but to find the boy a home since his breeder won't lend a hand. Jenn he was just being aloof. He was let loose while I was there and never showed any agression. He isn't a high drive dog at all.

Valerie I will keep you in mind if needing a transport, Thank You!!

I am inclined to believe there is more to this story. Why does a low drive, pretty dog need help finding a home? I have a list of people as long as my arm looking for a dog like that, if I had one. What are we missing? Something just doesn't add up- he sounds picture-perfect and yet his own breeder isn't taking him back and his owner won't keep him?

If this dog genuinely needs a home please contact Kristin, Southwest Michigan GSD Rescue (search it on Facebook).  I know her very well and she is legit.  She has been doing GSD rescue for RARES (Richland Animal Rescue and Equine "S"omething).  We don't actually have many GSDs available in rescue in this area so she has been getting young GSDs shipped in from California, I believe just got five more and some might already have potential adopters lined up. My latest foster was an 11 year old male GSD (a Craigslist dump) and through her rescue we were able to find him an awesome new "retirement" home in just two weeks. I'm sure she/we could find Brix a good home using rescue resources (application screening, vet reference check, etc).

Jenn, You are welcome to come to your conclusions but the problem started about 2 years ago when my friend Fred had purchased the dog from the breeder shortly after the male had his leg surgery. The dog got away from my friend and soon after the falling out between breeder and client happened.  She wanted the dog back and he wanted to keep him. Once the dog was found Fred went and picked him up from the who had him, lucky he had all the paperwork cause the breeder requested that the dog be returned to her rather than to Fred. Anyway the dog went to Fred and now since Fred had passed away in August his widow has decided to move out to her brothers which she was told that she could only bring one dog. she had contacted the breeder in chance that she would take him back, but later was told that she couldn't.  You are welcome to pm me and I can give you the widows phone number to find out for yourself. The breeder does have a choice whether or not she want to comment here and or help out to find this boy the home he deserves, but like times before she relies on friends to voice her opinions.

I'm only doing this as a favor to my friends widow.

Yes, many of us remember that. Many of us remember a lot of things about that dog.  I am certainly not friends with Kelly. I actually have never liked her breedings or the fact that she asked us for money to be completely honest. Red Smile Regardless, there is more to this and I think you know that. She isn't the antichrist in this though if he were of my breeding, I would take him back come hell or high water. There is more than one guilty party here but the facts about the dog remain. I feel sorry for him- one more mediocre GSD shuffled from home to home because he's surrounded by idiots.

I hope he finds someone willing to work with him more than anyone has previously.

Again think what you may. I offered you all I know and how to contact the dogs owner to find out for yourself.  I also feel sorry for the dog and for just that reason I have posted him here.

Ah, low drive isn't really what Melissa looks for.  I wish I knew someone.  I think the suggested rescue places are going to be your best bet.  Good luck.
