In my language there is a difference between RESPECTFUL and NICE, all people like others to be respectful to them when they themselves are respectful to others, that I think is natural.
To be nice to someone is an extra step in relations and it is no one's business to ask others to be nice to him, I wonder if it's the same in English or it's just a common term when you say to someone BE NICE.
I think one important thing to add to the subject;
Forgetting is a blessing, some just forget and forgive after little time, some take more time and some do not forget and never forgive. Life is easier with those who forget and do forgive.

I agree with Paul in the general theme of what he meant in his post, but the way he put it in words was'nt neither respectful nor nice to the forum communiity and certainly offensive to specific members he had in mind. A just cause is often lost when presented in the wrong form.
If you allow me to dwell a bit on Be Nice, in old days here it would be an insult and bad suggestion to ask a lady to be nice to you but you could ask her to Be Respectful, to me it sounds strange to hear some one asking others to be nice to him, why should they? they are not your children or your young brothers and sisters, lol. I can understand it's a language thing, I think

Ibrahim, Mentayflor You never have to appologize for English not being your first language. If you do then I am sorry for my German, Italian, Spanish, Chek, Russian, etc
