Well said Malinda... I will add I have worked with Malinda and she is extremenly knowledgable and understands dogs more than most people no matter what field you are discussing.

Not all Schutzhund dogs can be SAR dogs. Just like not all SAR dogs could be Schutzhund dogs. Our Search Group (out of liability sake, etc.) does not allow ANY dogs with ANY sort of bitework to be members of our group. NASAR rules state that a Schutzhund dog can be a SAR dog as long as the dog has been taught to bite on command. In other words, a dog that has been trained to bite defensively (aka...if someone approaches within x amount of feet after a given command, and the dog bites/attacks), cannot be allowed into NASAR.
